Just another aside here. Strasburg had a WAR of 2.7 last year. Kid Nichols in his first 13 years never had a WAR of less than 4.4. I guess I just feel there is much more digging that should be done when you guys are making your picks. At least take someone that I want at some point in this draft. I have been chalk since starting this.

None of the hitters from early on clearly didn't face a pitcher like strasburg..That's the thing when comparing different era's of baseball its almost impossible to because the game has changed so much. Those guys pitching 400 innings weren't throwing 100mph fastballs, killer breaking balls etc... It's nearly impossible to know but i would think if you put strasburg,verlander kershaw in the 80's 90's they would completely dominate..This whole things subject to opinion though that's just how i look at it..

I wouldn't use WAR as a stat to determine who's a better pitcher

And that is one of the reason that your team is not as good as mine. I will use all kinds of stats to show you how much better Nichols is than Strasburg.

Okay, so through our pitchers and catchers, it is really pretty close. I guess I was wrong. I am still checking.

-This is an undefined Fantasy Draft.

Depending on what criteria we use for scoring, any one of these teams could conceivably be the winner.

Further, if we were using single-season performances, i can guaran-damn-tee you i can put together a team of players right now that have not been drafted, using cherry-picked single-seasons performances, that would dominate any 4x4 or 5x5 draft.

However, y'all agreed to do this for fun, and without any initial criteria.

Now, either get better at trash-talking or make with more picks so us armchair drafters can see how this plays out!

lol strasburg isnt on my team so i could care less. Im talking from a pure pitching standpoint that strasburg stuff is better than Nichols.. And i dont think your teams better than mine

You keep going back to a single season issue. I do not see this as a single season thing. Yes, I know Hack Wilson had 190 RBIs, or you can get a guy like Vince Coleman with 150 SBs, but I think MOST people are going careers. Obviously you can see how some people are choosing their players. I love talking crap on this, especially on people who are taking 2nd or 3rd year players. I also know that with a poll on this, it will not end well for me. At least I can vote for myself, or maybe not. I sure love Tyson taking CC Sabathia.

How could you know that???? You have a radar gun in 1890??? Stuff does not make a good pitcher. Ask Luke Hochevar how that works out.

This has been a pretty fun deal so far. I can't wait to see how each of the teams stack up against one another after the final pick has been made. You can definitely see some different philosophies if you pay close attention to who has drafted which players so far.

That is how fantasy baseball is played Depends if we're talking the rookie fantasy baseball (roto,h2h) or more real like baseball like on scoresheet

Certainly was a steal at this point in the draft. As a DH or bench player he is hard to argue against, but at 1ST base the position is historically deep.
