I got Stan to sign the first appearance of the Symbiote Spider Man costume for me in person at a show, which was on my Birthday back in 2013. I remember thinking then I better get him as he was getting up there in age. One of my favorite pieces:

Outside of Frank Miller and Jack Kirby, Stan was my favorite. His characters and stories are the legacy he left behind.

Got to meet Stan the Man 6 years ago, for someone his age was so full of life and energy. Knew this day was coming but man awful to hear. RIP Stan Lee, the world will forever be better because of what you created and influenced.

I've always wanted to get this card signed in person but never wanted to wait on the line or spend the money. Regret it now.

"Stan Lee gave us more than co-creations X-Men, Iron Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four & Spider-Man. He gave us creeds to live by. Principles to emulate. Villains (and racism) to fight. He gave me vital cornerstones of my belief system. My sense of responsibility." - Brad Meltzer

Rest in Peace Stan. You had a fantastic life. You gave me my core beliefs thru comics that I will carry with me the rest of my life. Thank you. Excelsior!

If I'm not mistaken, the image originally appeared on the 1970's in-house Marvel Comics fan magazine "FOOM". Given it's been around 40+ years, there may be some authenticated signed copies of that, if that would do.

Even the card (incredibly, to me, since I remember opening 1990 Impel Marvel 1 packs like it was yesterday) is almost 30 years old, so I would imagine Stan signed a goodly number of those, as well, over the years.

My Stan Lee autograph collection includes the classic 1998 Marvel Silver Age Autograph card and one from 2007 Red Sonja 30th Anniversary, both pack-pulled. I guess his "rookie" pack-issued cards would be the Iron Man and Silver Surfer special cards from 1996 Fleer Ultra Onslaught. On the sell sheet, it was advertised Jim Lee and Liefeld would sign 100 of 4 different cards, so 200 total sigs from Jim and 200 from Rob. As the set was issued though, Jim and Rob signed 100 each of one card, and Stan stepped in and signed 100 each of the other two cards. Not a bad substitution! (Granted, finding any one card was 1 in 4,500 packs, so basically 1 in 9,000 for a Stan Lee or 1 in 18,000 for a Jim Lee or Liefeld!)

Stan must've been a late addition to the Red Sonja set, too, as he (and a couple of other signers in the set) signed on cards that had his name printed on a little strip of paper pasted over the name of the artist of the card who had autographed a version of the card that hadn't been altered.

I spoke with him briefly at Comic-Con around 1998, but didn't get anything signed that day. Looking back on it now, he was already 75. Glad to see he got another 20 years, and lived long enough to see come true something he always knew (and spent much of his later life to make happen): Marvel's characters had value far beyond the printed page.

Right up there with Walt Disney. The world would be a completely different place without them. Sold off my signed books when the news came out about the elder abuse and now I’m a little bummed I don’t have one, but at the same time I know I’ll necer forget him.

Sad news, he was a true legend.

I was a huge fan of his creations, but, alas, my comic collection is long gone as is almost all of my card collection. One of the cards I couldn't bring myself to part with is a hand drawn sketch and autograph card from The Complete Avengers I pulled myself back in 2006 (about 1:100 boxes to pull this card I believe).
I'm so happy I kept it, I'd never be able to afford to replace it now (they were going for $700+ a few years ago, the rare time 1 would come up for sale).
At least I still have 1 little piece of Stan Lee.

I just did a signing with him about 2 months ago and knew it could easily be his last. These were the last two books he signed for me

My one and only Stan Lee signed book. I’m glad I went for the 9.6 with his signature over the 9.8 without. Definitely a keeper.

Posted in the other thread, but also wanted to pay my respects here.

I met Stan in 2011, and he was everything you'd expect and more. Never seen anyone with so much energy. It was a thrilling day that I'll remember forever.

He signed a few things for me, but my favorite is the 1976 Marvel lunch box I've kept all these years. Perfectly, Stan signed right under Spidey.

Rest in peace to a great man I admired. Condolences to his family and his legion of fans who are, like me, very sad.

And, always and forever, EXCELSIOR!

Tributes to the great man coming in worldwide. He will never be forgotten.

A couple of fun "Stan-centric" one shots from the early 80's that I loved reading and re-reading as kid.
The Man could sell anything!

You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed.

People can dissect his life, malign his character, call him a legend or say what they want.
Whether there is truth to the stories or not, it doesn't take away from the fact that he was "The Man".
How many other people have put themselves out for a company like he did?
