Default Who's getting in on Prizm Football?

I know Prizm Basketball has been the product of the year so far in basketball. Is anyone on here getting in to Cases or anything with Prizm Football? What are your thoughts on it? Im getting as much of it as possible especially with a super stud draft class..... Thanks

I'm glad their is no stupid event/game used stuff in this product.

I can't wait for it. Probably will just get singles and some retail if I see any of it.

It could be a good break at $1200/case

2 sets 1-300 x $150 each = $300
24 autos x $25 (avg) each = $600
12 Red Die Cuts x $15 each = $180
36 Prizms x $5 each = $180

Gold /10 - ?
Black 1/1 - ?

$1260 return, about a break even after fees.

Saying Prizm basketball was product of the year is like saying the Kia Sorento is the best Kia released all year. Sure, its the best Kia, but its still a Kia. Fact is, there were no other companies to compete, so Panini had a captive audience. Basketball collectors were fighting over scraps. Look at what happened with Fleer Retro - OBVIOUSLY the product of the year.

Prizm wont be as successful in Football because football already has a far superior product in Chrome. It had muuuuuch better design work, on card autos, and all sorts of reasons to latch on. As I have said before, this product looks nothing but exceptionally boring in the design. Its easy to see that Panini has no experience making cards like this.

Sure, just put ROOKIE in 140 point text, and take up the bottom quarter of the card with a stupid looking border. Love it.

How do you price a new product like this? I'm considering buying a case or two but would have no idea how to price whatever I pull. Especially considering there is nothing to compare it to.

Thoughts from some more seasoned card guys?

Based on the popularity of Prizm basketball, they may overproduce the hell out of this stuff.

I doubt we will pull 2 golds per case like with basketball.

But I could be wrong.

No way, not sure where you are getting your numbers but no way you get this much return on prism football. I assume that you are going off what prism basketball has sold for?? Alot more turd autographs in football then there is in basketball

Have y'all seen some of the D League 'turds' in the basketball set?

Doesn't matter, if his numbers were true, everyone would be buying a case knowing that they would make back 90% of their purchase price.

I think this will be a great product.

However, I don't think you will see the same returns as you did with Prizm Basketball. Simply because of the market size of basketball collectors. And to be perfectly honest, the top 5 guys in basketball outsell the top 5 in other sports.

I pre-sold a few chrome sets with all of the inserts for $150, this set is more robust than chrome because of the 100 rookies and rookies 1 per pack.

More realistic numbers:

2 sets 1-300 x $75 each = $150
24 autos x $15 (avg) each = $360
12 Red Die Cuts x $10 each = $120
36 Prizms x $4 each = $144

$774 return, less after fees. (and this might still be above average)

Obviously a big auto or Prizm can move this up but this is probably more of whats expected. I mean the football boxes will have an additional Prizm Refractor plus the Red Prizm and 3 ADDITIONAL inserts. I can NOT see how prices will be comparable to basketball. Especially going into the off season.

i just don't think there's the same market for this in football as there is in basketball. The demand won't be there, and the price point is too high imo.
