That's a pretty good deal! I like the velvet collector bag idea too!

If you snag the eBay 10% off a purchase of $50, or more, today - here's a 1/10 gae that's eligible. Comes in a bit lower than most of the big websites with the discount.

2016 Gold American Eagle GAE 1 10oz Tenth Ounce $5 BU | eBay

Decent deal on SAEs, as this falls into eligible for the 10% discount:

2016 Silver American Eagle SAE BU 10pc | eBay

Check your email, ebay messages or the ebay main page where the huge ads scroll for the 10% eBay bucks offer. I just got it in email about a half hour ago. Silver Eagles with this pricing and the discount work out to about $20.66 each, with spot at $19.17 right now. $1.49 premium is good.

-------
the link for the 1/10th gold Eagle on my post above qualifies again as well.

Hey guys - I'm new to the Silver/Gold forums (not to Blowout though) and have a newbie question. I've read up on the benefits of buying Silver vs. Gold and lean towards Silver. So far, I've roughly 27 SAEs and 2 Gold Eagles (a 1/4 oz and 1/10oz). So slowly building a nice investment to go along side my sports cards, comics, and vintage Star Wars.

Here's my question - what do you guys think about this deal - I've not bought it before so I'm eligible. I get the Silver at spot thing, but everything I've read says investors prefer SAE's - so wouldnt' I be better off buying 10 SAE's for under $200 than $175 on rounds? I'd love opinons from the board.

Buy Silver At Spot Price - JM Bullion Starter Pack

Thanks!

I personally prefer Canadian silver to generic rounds or SAEs. I like that it's a more pure silver (.9999 silver vs .999 silver). So my collection is for the most part Canadian Maple Rounds, and 10 oz royal Canadian bars.

When I started out I bought a bunch of generic rounds from places like silvertowne any time they had a free shipping deal. While the silver was cheaper, I'm happier with the Canadian silver.

If anyone has Canadian stuff - I would trade in your favor for generic rounds - just let me know!!

Nice - I didn't know that. All the articles I've read pushed met to SAE's and SGE's.

Oh I guarantee I'm in the minority - it's just a personal preference. But if the dollar were ever to collapse and metals became the mainstream currency - I'd prefer a generic round to an SAE. But I don't buy silver as a coin collector - I buy it as an investment diversification.

Frankly, you will get both opinions. You can pick one or the other or both, but don't "overpay" for either. You will pay a premium on Eagles, but you will get that premium back when you sell them. Sometimes the premium is $2.50, sometimes its $4.00. You may get the rounds for close to spot, but you will get spot or less when you sell them. Either is fine. My advice is really not to diversify too much. It will be much easier to sell 1000 rounds or 1000 Eagles or 500 rounds and 500 Eagles vs a hodge podge of different things.

I buy Canadian all the time. Typically the premium on Maples is less than Eagles, and since they are just as widely accepted its a no brainer to me. I buy Canadian bars also, and they are the only bars on buy. When its time to buy, whichever of those three has the best price is typically where my money goes.

This looks to be the best deal on SAE's online that I can find right now. I'm going to buy one of these lots once I get enough money from my eBay sales:

Special Price! Lot of 10 2016 Oz .999 Fine American Silver Eagle Coins SKU38286 | eBay

I finally sold enough to eBay to buy this at the last minute. I locked in at $190.70 - so $19.07 per coin. I'm happy with that!

Anywhere you can buy this with the 8% eBay Bucks promotion active? This listing does not offer eBay Bucks.

Most don't allow eBay bucks in the coins/currency category. It's stupid IMO but not my rules. I something try to find gold/silver listed in the wrong category (at least I think that would work).

2015 Pandas for a great price from Provident via eBay. $104xx as of this post. Most sites have them priced at around $25+, each.

Is the 2015 a special date? On that same page they showed another auction for 5x 2016 Pandas for $95.75

It's the last year they were 1oz. coins. They went to 30g in 2016.

I've never understood why they went to 30g. I've also never understood the draw to the 30g coin with such a large Mark up over maples and eagles.

Also, I do have a few maples but I mostly focus on Eagles. I can't even trust Trudeau to have real eyebrows, let alone real silver! In all seriousness I do wish that the eagle coins stated the purity on the piece itself like maples and most generic rounds do. It is known world wide what the coin is so I guess it doesn't need to be said but still it would be nice.

Just look up sell prices on older pandas. Whenever they show up for a few dollars over spot, like those deals, it's worth it in comparison to SAEs and Maples.

I quit my panda set because they changed the coin weight
Hopefully I can sell my set someday without losing my a$$
