Default 18/19 Young Guns?

Any thoughts on what Young Guns we can expect this year from Series 1?

I’m assuming Rasmus Dahlin and Svechnikov, hoping Zadina as well.

Going to be a pretty good year IMO. Series 1 will have Dahlin, Middlestadt, Donato, Anderson

Dahl I will likely be in Series 1. Svechnikov will most like be in Series 2 because Upper Deck likes to break up the top to picks (his Canvas YG will be in S1 most likely). Zadina will need to look like he’s gonna make the team out of camp to get a young gun. Ryan Donota will be in.

You must be fun at parties.

Some 18/19 fun young guns:

Top Rookies in next year's card class:
1. Elias Pettersson (this guy DESTROYED the SHL and broke all kinds of records, many Vancouver fans expect him to be a 50-60 pt player as a rookie, no joke)
2. Casey Middlestadt (high offensive talent + opportunity in Buffalo)
3. Cody Glass (he also tore up the WHL and hopefully will get a long look with Vegas next year)
4. Eeli Tolvanen (Nashville prospect who crushed it for Jokerit in the KHL this year, got signed and is on the Preds playoff roster)

Top draft picks who could play next year.
Dahlin, Svechnikov, Zadina should play in the NHL next year. Maybe Wahlstrom, one of the 4 Dmen from 6-10, and Kotkaniemi.

Then prospects on current teams who should get a card:
Jordan Greenway (Minnesota)
Ryan Donato (Boston)
Anthony Cirelli (Tampa)
Dylan Sikura (Chicago)
Joe Hicketts (Detroit)
Matthew Peca (Tampa)
Spencer Foo (Calgary)
Neal Pionk (NYR)
Zach Aston-Reese (Pittsburgh)
Travis Dermott (Toronto)
Andreas Johnsson (Toronto)

The following are close to opening roster locks: (should get YGs in Series 1)
Elias Pettersson - Canucks (looks to be best player on the team already- not hard lol)
Casey Mittelstadt - Sabres
Rasmus Dahlin - Sabres
Andrei Svechnikov - Canes
Jesperi Kotkaniemi - Canadiens
Evan Bouchard - Oilers
Jordan Greenway - Wild
Dillion Dube - Flames (deserves to stay up IMO)
Ryan Donato - Bruins
Anthony Cirelli - Lightning
Brady Tkachuk - Sens (i was wrong, he looks ready)
Neal Pionk - Rangers
Andreas Johnsson - Maple Leafs

Long shots but they have a chance in Series 2
Filip Zadina - Red Wings
Rourke Chartier - Sharks
Warren Foegele - Canes
Dylan Sikura - Blackhawks
Zach Aston-Reese - Penguins
Travis Dermott - Maple Leafs
Adam Gaudette - Canucks (probably down to Utica)
Joe Hicketts - Red Wings (i really like him, but log jam at D for Detroit)
Matthew Peca - Canadiens (two-way contract is only reason i have him here)
Spencer Foo - Flames (i think he goes back to AHL)

The following have been sent down (i.e. no young guns expected this year):
Cody Glass (going to WHL)
Eeli Tolvanen (going to AHL)
Kiefer Bellows (going to AHL as expected)
Noah Dobson (back to the Q)
Oliver Wahlstrom (going to Boston College)
Quinn Hughes (going to Michigan)

Not to nitpick your list, as you've put considerably more effort in than I have... but wouldn't Sikura be likely to get a series 1 YG regardless of where he starts his year since he made his debut last season?

Could be for sure, had 5 games last year. I think if he gets sent down though they might leave him for S2

Cholowski and Zadina are better than long shots to make the wings opening day roster. I like their chances.

If Kotkaniemi starts the season in Montreal, his YGs will do well.

That would be an anomaly as Montreal YGs never do well.

I heard Hronek is going to be the one that stays up over Hicketts and Cholowski? Maybe my research is not good

Looks like Cholowski will be in Det. Hronek likely to start in Grand Rapids.

Zadina also going to GR. Series 2 is possible if he shines in the AHL and the injury bug bites Detroit.
