Hot topic I think showed grey hulk funkompop exclusive
HT has really changed their merchandising
It's mainly comic and Disney related. They get so many exclusives its unreal

Here's what I've learned from DisFanReview with the help of Rich Johnson over at Bleeding Cool.

Apparently MARVEL is very interested in keeping their secrets, well, secret. According to multiple sources the HOT TOPIC corporate office sent another email to stores on Sunday January 25th, instructing store managers to account for all copies of the comic and DESTROY them immediately. Additionally, our sources indicated that it is likely the issue will be reprinted without the offending ad, but there is no indication as to when or if that will occur.

If this is true, then the Hot Topic variant is THE variant to get.

$65 may well be a bargain.

Bleeding Cool ran a story this morning, which could have caused the books to dry up on line.

I have no idea....some recalled issues don't retain value so it depends what you plans are. For me paying 65 plus for a issue that was recalled for the back cover that will be reintroduced is a gamble. Let the buyer beware!

Depends, if they re-release the issue with the ad missing, once the hype wears off these aren't going to be mega expensive. It's just an ad on the interior. If the issue DOESN'T get re-released and this cover becomes the rarest of them all to build a full set, a lot. A whole lot.

Back in the day (OK I'd give a time frame but I forget and am not looking it up) there was a recalled Wolverine issue where he called sabertooth a, let's just go with derogative term that offended people. When it was first recalled the things went INSANE overnight as everyone had to have one. I've seen them now sell as low as 10 bucks at shows. That's down from like 100+ when it was the hot item. Buyer beware?

Personal opinion? SELL!!!!!!

The only way that bites you in the butt is if it doesn't get re-released later. In that case sorry I gave you bad advice on the interwebs.

I picked up a copy of Lady Killer #1 today with my typical Wednesday pickup's for the week, been meaning to give it a read, the potential back issue market value gave me extra incentive to grab a copy.

On the CGC boards they are saying the Hot Topic book isn't recalled and it will be released on Sunday. Big gamble.

So so far they're either being destroyed, sent back, or held. Maybe or maybe not re-printed without the ad. Or simply just sold on Sunday?

So the only thing we're ruling out is... aliens?

If these are for a release that goes along with the Film then this could be a major spoiler..

Grey Hulk being One

and the one looks to be of The Vision who I didnt know was announced for the film ?

The lurkers can have this one. It's cool to own but I wouldn't pay over cover for an ungraded copy.

People like to be negative nancy's with this info, although Hot Topic is NOT talking about it unless you're tight with someone who works there, we can only go on what we're seeing. Which to me, is they're drying up on Ebay, even at $65 a pop. If it's re-released, it'll be without the ad on the back making this one a recalled comic. Jimmy Linguinni is saying it's recalled. I tend to believe him. He's always been a rock solid source of info.

If you're happy making 60-70 off a $5 comic, sell it, but if it's true that they've all been destroyed, it'll be worth a lot more, but over time will not sell as fast, but for more. Rock meet hard place.

I just got a text from my friend. Yesterday they were told hold in back. Today she was told destroy. Which she did, in a highly entertaining fashion I might ad. So I can't speak for all of their stores but for at least one "group" (district? whatever) they're gone.

Hell I had a few friends grab them in the 40-50 dollar range yesterday. If they get them apparently they bought well.

From a recent listing

"This book has been discontinued. Hot Topic was told to destroy these. They are very limited!"

The interwebs would never give bad advice though!

I suppose I could wait a day or two...
