Captain, I know where you are coming from, just waiting for it to get started. Waiting on a list and descriptions of the stolen cards.

Yeah, thats just a start. I didnt have my vintage scanned & my Cowboys PC (Larger than that) are scanned, but I'll have to upload them to a bucket. I only have my incoming Cowboys in there now.

I do agree that its a really nice thing to have in your photo bucket (then again scans arent always the best so using the comment area helps).
All depends on the policy. The one he has sounds like junk to be honest, which is unfortunate.

If anyone has collectibles like this, I advise "scheduling" them on your policy. Basically you appraise your collection annually (or as often as you would like) and have that list on your homeowners policy. The best part about that is you have a $0 deductible (depending on the company/policy) should something happen, and the coverage is any peril.

Talk to your local agent.

Why are all of your scans different sizes?

Back when I was putting everything in a bucket, I used the pics from the people I tradedwith, or from the ebay auctions I won them from.I have a crappy digital camera(see the scan of the Barry & Marino autos as proof). So, if there was a better pic than I could take, I used it instead.

About a year ago we had someone break into our house. Nothing was stolen from me, personally but they stole all my mom's jewelry, some cash my dad had stashed for emergencies, and my dad's old atari and game collection. Insurance didn't actually cover most of it, and my dad never started collecting the atari games after that. Such a bummer that things like that happen. People that do that make me sick.
Good luck, though. Don't give up. I hope it all works out for you.

You wouldn't happen to have the serial number for the cards, would you? That may help.

If you don't have the serial numbers, go back and ask everyone that you purchased one of the stolen cards from if they have clearer scans and/or serial numbers

my brother had his place broken into as he was still moving in around 6-8 months ago. Brand new 42'' flat screen, 2 notebooks, digital camera, wii and some other random stuff. he searched craigslist and all the local pawn shops and nothing turned up and the police had nothing. He did get all the $ from insurance to cover loss. people can be scum and I would hope that your cards and things would show up somewhere. was your strongbox locked? Was the key in it? Is there another way for them to get into it?

I would put all of those into auto searches on ebay that search all the time. When one pops up, you get an email.

chipmaster, THANK YOU! Its great to know I have an extra set of eyes out there. I've been to most of the shops around here & they are aware of what to look for & have my contact info. I even offered a hefty reward to any shop that finds them. Same here. If ANY member can lead me to the person with my collection, I'll definatly make it worth your while!

Sorry to hear about your situation the good news is that you were all away at the time and everyone is safe. Collecting is a hobby, is should be fun and exciting, dont let ones action spoil the excitement. I've lost alot of the things I treasured at one time so I can guess how you feel. If you send me your address I'll send you a couple of items to help you start you collect back up.

Chip, your right. I had a feeling that something had happened that soured people to my thread because of a comment or two. The "BOTIEGATE 2.0" comment helped me figure it out. I found the member in referance & I do not want this turning into a situation like that at all. SC, its a VERY generous offer, but I don't want any hostility towards me by any board members, so I'll politely decline. I think I've found a trading card home in BO if I do stay in & don't want the reputation of someone trying to get spmething for nothing. Thanks a million for the offer though. It would be nice, but don't want anyone to think im that kind of person.

Hey all! Just an update. I'll be getting a check via the insurance company for just about enough to cover everyhing but my card collection. Oh well, at least my wife or girls things will be replaced. As for me, I may be picking up a few packs here & there to try to get back in & will definatly stick around BO. There are a ton of friendly people here & I look forward to hopefuly dealing with a few of ya if I come across anything worth trading.
Thanks to all for your kind words & remember, if you can help me locate my collection, there will be a hefty cardboard reward in it for ya!

Sell them on ebay, make no mention of empty in the title, and say in the description that they are empty

What all do you have covered for searches of the cards besides ebay? Do you have SCF, FCB, HI, etc covered too?
