Help me finish my NFL HOF collection (1 more) & get a $250 finders fee

Some of you know that my collecting focus is on NFL HOF autographs. I am down to needing 1 more to complete my collection. If you are able to help me find & purchase a Charles Bidwill autograph, I'll send you a $250 finders fee for helping me. It's a collection I've worked over 20 years on, and am now down to my last signature I need to obtain.

Any help would be appreciated!!

There is no pack pulled autograph. I'm hoping for a cut piece of paper.... It doesn't matter the medium it's on I'm just looking for the signature

Isn't there only 15 or so confirmed autograph's of him? Probably the rarest HOF autograph. Think one sold on Hunt Auctions a while back for $5000+

That's about right. Hugh Ray is harder, Bidwill is the second hardest

That's the one I need. It's on a contract instating Elmer Layden as commissioner of the NFL and is signed by all the owners. That's in private hands and I know who owns it, but is not available.

Its a longshot, but in this instance I would try writing directly to his extended family....perhaps 2-3 different members.

From the quick research I did online, I think "Bill" Bidwill is still alive and is in his mid 80's, he may be one to try and contact.
Another possibility is his son, the one who was just recently on "All Or Nothing".

I collected autos for many years from some old TV series, and you often have to think outside the box for these ultra scarce ones.
There are ways to locate addresses online in this day and age, its much easier than it was even 10 years ago.

This may or may not be "your thing", but a handwritten letter explaining your unusual collection may well do the trick....IF it can make its way to a family member.

Often families like this (especially tied to a very famous group like the HOF) are very proud and honored to even be associated with these types of things.

Obviously you aren't looking to sell your collection, and I'm sure it took you years to accumulate.
Explaining part of that,often is enough to get someone with "an inside track" to try and help you out.

In cases like these, trying a few methods like this may well help you score what you are looking for.
In fact, I would try writing BOTH of Bidwill's sons, and Bill himself.
You may or may not ever get what you are looking for, but in this case it may well be one of the last avenues you can try.
Even at a minimum, if they can't locate something that he may have signed (you never really know, bet they have a bunch of "family pieces" laying around) if they can't find something, you may well get yourself a handwritten letter from Bill Bidwell or one of his kids.
Not exactly what you are looking for, but its a close second and as far as provenance is concerned, those type letters are pretty strong to tie in to your collection too.

Agreed. Needless to say I've exhausted those kinds of avenues, and was informed the family wasn't holding any which I believe. I know there were people in the 90s writing the family looking for some and they were also informed there were none being held.
