Default Verizon iPhone 6 16gb

So my wife washed her iPhone 6 in the washer, wasn't in there for 5 minutes until she realized it was in there...so she put it in a bag of rice overnight and the phone turns on, no water damage to the screen or anything but the lower half of the phone screen won't work. The top part works and you can type the first couple digits but can't type the whole passcode out to unlock. So with that being said, anyone have any tips on how to get this to work? I already got her the 7plus today, but I would love to get some money back if I can get this to work.

you may need to replace the digitizer/screen assembly. I personally use the more expensive, but trustworthy parts and kits from icracked.com and do my own work with the tool kits ive acquired over the years. the repairs are easy with walkthoughs found online.

however, a 16GB iphone 6 honestly doesn't have much resale value now and I cant tell you if replacing the screen is a wise economic choice. however if you want to find one of those local kiosk type repair places in the mall with a cheap $20-30 screen repair, that may help you recoup some of the costs. however, those screens can be wishy washy and may not work correct for long, if at all. also, some of the newer iOS releases can cause non OEM or cheap replacement parts, mainly the screen, from not working at all after the repair and give you an error message. so its kind of a toss up.

Thanks for the info, she had the screen replaced awhile back in the mall actually before she washed it, but do you think that is the issue? A faulty screen? The phone shoes no water damage whatsoever.

It sounds like the digitizer under that screen which defects touch is bad. Itís usually a sealed unit and replaced along with the screen. Itís worth a shot replacing. Itís the only thing that detects touch.
