Ovechkin at this year's National show in MD

Just took a peak at the lineup for this year's National show in August in Baltimore. I have to say I was pleased to see Ovechkin as one of the marquee names for the show, just to have a prominent modern day hockey figure for the National. Good to see some hockey love at the National level.

How is he at shows? My daughters want to meet him but I don't want their bubbles burst if he's a creep.

Since I've met him a few times I'll chime in on this. The best answer I can give is, it all depends on how he's feeling. At shows I've never seen the big gapped smile that we see, but he's always been polite. His signature stinks for the price you pay and he won't sign any type of inscription. I'd also bet that the Nat'l will have a photo opp section where you can get pics with the athletes. You MIGHT get some sort of smile, but he's usually stoic. With the, I'm guessing, photo opp section - you won't be able to do the stop and pose pictures during the public autograph signing. I know it's mixed, but I've met the man 3 times at shows...

he dont take pride in signing stuff like most russians ,you can tell by their autographs, is there even one with a decent signature ??? look at malkins pure crap, datsyuk same crap etc etc.....

He hates signing stuff.... He will do it but will be like bam bam just getting it done.
