It's got the "essential" sticker autos.

Seriously, looks exactly like Status.

Problem at this point is not even the design or the price. It's just that there are too many products!

At this point, they are going to have like 3 versions of Chronicles to merge them all.

Pretty much trying a different version of Aficionado which failed last season, I think the SRP is the same too.

I'm keeping an open mind until I see a checklist. I'm picky as it is, so if it's an easy pull insert or parallel or common sticker auto, I stay away regardless. 2 stickers and boatload of inserts for $120 sounds like upscale Status or something. If they put KAT in some of the case hit inserts, then maybe I'll grab those, but if the design or player pic is an overused one, I have to move on. But I'm keeping an open mind...

At this point I don't even keep track of new products for any sport because there is just way to much.

Maybe instead of producing this products Panini should fix their crappy website from crashing. Pathetic company.

Product overload, yes, but I feel like these will look pretty nice in hand. Will probably end up picking up a few singles.

Struggling to see how this looks exactly like Status.

It seems like every week, there is a new "First Buzz" threads showing off another new product. I'm glad I have my PC very streamlined so I'm not tempted to try to keep up and bust all these new products. I know you miss out on the thrill of not knowing what you're going to get, but I have definitely found that singles is the way to go for me lol

I loved Status.....such a 1991 Skybox throwback, and it's simplicity is what attracted me. This, another sticker-fest soon to be lost in the mix. I fully expect Panini to take advantage of the strong rookie crop and release things often, but they have such little brand loyalty....it's like when Topps was doig Matrix, Total, Treasury, Front Row, Echelon and a few others that never held a hobby identity.

I don't think this looks like Status at all, and man have I opened that product. I'm *still* trying to complete just a base set with the rookies.

Right? I don't get the comparison.

I really like Status. I think it's one of, if not the best designed low end products that Panini has ever put out.

I also like these mockups for Essentials. I think they'll look nice in hand, but they look nothing like Status. Where are the design similarities, besides both being basketball cards?

I agree. Status is the Sleeper product of the year in my opinion. Some really hard chases in it too - gonna be killer for PC player completionists.

We've been in that era for years now. People just haven't caught on for the most part.

Looks as tired as Kyrie's face on the mockup, but maybe it'll be ok.

all products that have sticker autos--- suck. I mean that as bluntly as I say that. i put prizm basketball right in there. as much as its become beloved over the last 1.5 years, its hot garbage. thats why it sold for nothing prior to last year.

Can you imagine if Panini had the rights to Jordan (or even Lebron). There are a ton of just Jordan collectors partly due to the fondness of the 90's and what not. Keeping up with somebody like him in every product and many would be limited run would be intimidating and frustrating.

Agree, it just "looks" different now. End result is still the same. Question is when does the contraction begin?

Agree! I admit that there are several sets I would have loved to see an MJ, but I'm definitely glad Panini doesn't have his rights. I'd be totally poor trying to keep up with the jersey cards lol

Well to be clear people do not buy Prizm because of the Autos... They chase non-auto silver rookies and gold rookies (not as much as silver though). So to add it along the lines of other products that use sticker autos primarily is a bit of a stretch. I do agree though, using sticker autos in the modern era is just a crime.
