Default Expired Redemption...Any chance Topps gives a "blank"?

Bought the rest of an opened box of 2001 Bowman's Best football, about 10 packs total, for the fun of it and actually hit one of the cards I was hoping for but....

I completely forgot redemptions were a thing back then!

I've read on here that Topps does not care whatsoever about expired redemptions and will not give you the time of day. Now, I understand that behavior when it comes to newer products that have warnings on the packaging, but what about these older redemptions where the box/pack has absolutely no mention of redemptions/expiration of redemptions. If I mention that to them in an email or phone call do you think they will listen or will it be a waste of time?

Also, this card seems like it was never even made, none on eBay for sale or sold when looking now. Does anyone know if this was ever made? If not, does that make this redemption card valuable in any way?

I'd love to hear your guys thoughts. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

LOL...Topps will tell you to shove it.

Sorry, but that's the reality of the situation.

The redemption may be worth a couple bucks, but I can't see it going for anything grater than like $10, and that's a stretch.

If it makes you feel better, I pulled this redemption back when it was active and received a replacement card instead(2000 Shaun Alexander rc auto) so they didn't even have this when it was active redemption.
Sorry for your luck

In literal terms, with blank meaning the absence of a thing...I believe that is precisely what Topps would give if you submitted this.

I agree Topps wont honor it as its long been expired. However there may be some interest in a collector hoping to add the redemption card to their PC, but sadly much lower rate than what the card would actually be (but looking from above likely wasnt made)

I love this line from Upper Deck's site about expired redemptions:
What happens to redemption cards after they expire?
They are either destroyed or used for replacements with other redemption programs. Unfortunately expired redemption cards cannot be honored.
Yeah, I can see them destroying a bunch of Jordans back then...

the card was never made.... i would venture to say an LT collector may pay upwards of 20-25 bucks for this card considering how few exist nearly 20 years after expiration. it's a pretty cool pull in my opinion

Finally an encouraging answer! But yea, the rest of what you guys are saying is about what I expected. I'll probably throw it on eBay with a high price tag and see if there is any interest.

Has anyone ever contacted Topps about the void of "redemptions that may expire warnings" on the boxes/packs? If so, what was there response?

Probably not as bad as going through old boxes and finding one of these:

This sort of thing happens all the time and it really sucks for collectors. They probably won't replace anything or even respond. If you wanted to, you could file a lawsuit and would more than likely win it (plus travel costs/filing fees). These redemption cards are a representation of the card you are due to receive (which should have been in that pack), and unless the expiration date is written on the box or pack, then they would be SOL. Even if the expiration date was on the box, you would still have a good chance of winning. Is it worth it to go through this hassle? Probably not, but the companies doing this keep getting away with it.

But that is an awesome card to pull and I'm sure the redemption card itself is worth something.
