1921 Morgan Silver Dollar FS 90% Silver
Looking to sell this 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar. It was part of a small collection of coins that belonged to my grandmother. A hole was drilled through the coin at some point for what I'm guessing was to be used as a jewelry piece. Either way, for an investment standpoint it's still 90% silver.
Looking for $26 dlvd. Last edited by slufan83; 11-28-2012 at 07:40 PM. |

A lot of times they would drill the hole to wear it on their belt loop or as a necklace that way they didnt lose any money on their way to the stores. But it could have also been worn as jewelry as well..

Since it no longer has any value as a coin, its only worth scrap value now. I took quick look at it, and i figure 1/40th is missing because of the hole drilled in it. Meaning that the silver scrap value went from $26.31 down to $25.65
So your $32 DLVD seems kinda high. GLWTS though |

Sorry, I don't keep up with the value of silver etc. I just got the small collection of coins last night and was pricing stuff by what they were selling for on eBay. I sold a 1894 Morgan last night on eBay for $32 and this one felt heavier so I figured my price was fair.

Since it came from your grandmother, maybe you might want to keep it as a lucky coin. At least thats what i would do.

Oh I have plenty of heirloom type items that I plan on keeping that belonged to my grandmother and her mother. A small stack of old coins doesn't have any sentimental value to me or my mother. I was just helping my mom move this last weekend and we came across them again. Half of the coins were some Mexican Pesos that I had acquired back in '93 when I was 10 from our vacation that year and the other half were just some coins that my grandmother had.

I believe you and him. $25 + $2 Shipping is the least I'd go...that's why I mentioned $27 above.

Not trying to piss on your thread but these guys above commenting offers aren't trying to lowball, those are all legitimate offers.. 27 is just a tad to high for it. |

No worries Daniel....as I said before I was already offered $25 for it. I also have it up on eBay and was going to cancel the listing if I can get an outright sale here. On eBay the bidding is already at $21 + my $2 shipping cost.

Sure, no problem. The final price was $28.66 and I charged $2.00 to ship (which will actually cost me about $2.75 after I get a DC#) for a total of $30.66. After PayPal fees I got $29.47. eBay charged me $2.58 in fees for the sale, so I cleared $26.89 for the coin. After I ship it, I'll have about $24 profit. I was asking $26 dlvd here, so after PayPal fee and my cost of shipping I probably would have gotten $22 something...not much difference really.
