Thanks. I wasn't expecting to buy them today. A guy told me he had some 50's/60's comics he was looking to sell, plus a few from the 70's/80's.. so I went to look at them and he had 3 rough shape 1960's books
and a Run of Star Wars from 1-80 and a run of G.I. Joe from #1-#12. The Star Wars and Joe books were from a one owner collection, read once and put away, so I bought the whole lot. Typical though, it's when I'm not looking stuff like this happens.

Got this in yesterday. Looked at the CGC census and found out that this is the only blue label 9.8 on the Census.

Picked up a small 5 figure collection of Series 1 Spawn figures. I bought them for the comic that was included as these are in really good shape for their age.

I have gotten back into comics of late and opening up my old boxes feels like hitting yard sale finds or storage room finds heh.

Those Spawn figures looked great right out of the gate, and they sold like hot cakes back then. I love the one they did of The Maxx. I think I have a couple of those shown in Indy's picture, and I'm sure I have an Angela or two. (I remember the variation when she has no underwear on was called "Party Angela". That designation probably wouldn't fly these days, haha.)
I'll have to dig those out. I probably haven't seen them in about 15 years.

Indy, have you ever used Beckett’s version grading your comics? Was thinking about trying to send some in but not sure how collecting community views CBCS.
Thanks for any input! |

I've used CBCS many times before Beckett bought them. Haven't since the sale, but have no issues with them as far as grading goes. Resale is another story, CGC seems to sell for much higher realized prices, especially on Vintage, although, key books are probably close in sale price. I'm just old school and prefer CGC simply due to the history and I do sell quite a few books and CGC just seems to pull in better prices for me.

Thanks for the reply Indy. Do you do submit group submissions to CGC? What’s the going rate to get one graded and turnaround time?
Thanks again, Ryan |
