He will actually be putting these in his safety deposit box.

There is absolutely no way I would mail a collection of this magnitude to PSA. It's too risky. I'd get all of them graded in person if at all possible to avoid the slim chance of them getting lost in the mail.

They're all going to be stamped as a buy-back or 1/1 and re-issued

This is incredible. Seriously, it's amazing to see so many classic vintage cards in one shot like that.

My dad had a friend in high school who's older brother was a set collector. He started collecting in the mid 50s and he would hand-collate two complete sets of Topps every single year. After completing a set he'd organize them by card number, box them up, and then store them away. I met him in 2006 and briefly spoke with him about cards (I had a million questions I wanted to ask, but was a little intimidated meeting such a serious collector) but he did tell me that he was still hand-collating sets every year.

If for some reason he wants to sell that 48 bowman musial, let me know. I'd love to help a fellow beer nerd open a brewery.

I used to live in Defiance Ohio for a long time where they found that huge collection of mint T cards a couple of years ago, don't remember the year they were from.

While this is not quite at that level it is almost newsworthy. Aren't there a lot of short prints from those years? Really any cards from those years are worth money.

When I was kid in the late 60's my parents used to go to a flea market in Lancaster PA, I used to buy a shoe box full of cards from an old man everytime for $2. After a few boxes I noticed I never found any Mantles. I asked him about it and he told me he collects them and said if I ever get any in packs he would buy them from me. Looks like a few guys saw the future.

I don't understand how you have to find these. If I had something like that, I would know exactly where they were.

Jesus Christ. There has to be close to a million dollars worth of cards there. That's incredible! This is literally my dream lol. Get those to PSA in person, under no circumstances should you mail them.

Cobb: 2.5, maybe a 3 based on crease through eyes.
Robinson: Max of 5 (top left corner).
'53 Mantle: Max of 6 (centering and lower edge wear in red; can't see back)
'68 Mantle: Maybe an 8?

Damn, there's at least a million dollars in PSA grading fees in that picture.
