Right.. I thought I remembered reading Texas somewhere.. it was for the 1st found sketch, not the Campbell like you mentioned.

Yeah. Collected is my LCS. They have quite a few locations around the DFW metroplex. Unfortunately, that particular copy didn't make it to MY location.

I was told at WinterCon --- someone sent an offer of $3000 for it and it got rejected!

Wow!

How could anyone turned that offer? But then again, there maybe others lunatics out there that willing to drop a higher amount.

(Borrow from Shark Tank -- ... With that said, I am OUT!)

I am thinking that will get probably 5 large, assuming the owner sells. If I owned it, I would not let it go for less than 5 figs. But, I am a collector, sooooo the money would have to be insane to pry it out of my hands

But could you imagine the key books you get for 5K?! I would totally move it and upgrade some of the silver/bronze books that I have in my collection. Maybe even throw it at a BA 12. It's a nice cover and all, but if I could pay $4.99 for a 9.8 BA 12 plus others, I'd do it.

I would burn a BA12 9.8 to get this book for $4.99. But that is just me. I am CRAAAAAZY!!!

For $5k .... I would take a couple Jim Lee's pages - maybe X-men or current Justice League.

As much as love and willing to hoard JSC's stuff --- there is no way I am turning down that golden ticket that cost me only $5!

Good for him, not selling. It's nice to be able to turn down offers like that. I know it would be one of the last pieces to let go from my collection. You can buy a BA12 9.8 on ebay pretty often. This is a true one of a kind. To bad it will have to get a green label

How many do you think he has? 100s? 1000s? Even at a few 100, it's not completely bad. It's good for people that don't have access to him at shows. It's way out of my price range though.

I can order 20 as we speak --- I guess, it is "on-demand" kind of sale.

There will be plenty of un-touch versions, but on the flip side, there will be a LOT of copies for the popular versions.

PS. He is NOT just doing Spiderman's Renew Vows book, he is also doing Spider-Gwen's and Batman's

And from what it looks like ---- there will be 1000s of these "remarked" out there.

(There are a dozen of choices for Batman's. Three for Renew Your Vows. Four for Spider-Gwen. And Five for Spiderman)

I am a huge JSC supporter and willing to spend on his remarked stuff --- but with this "flooding the market" method is a mistake --> it will cause a huge letdown in secondary market for the "remarked" (there will be no appreciated value for having them since the supply will be endless).

I am not spending a dime on "awesome piece of work that is readily available on demand" scheme. Thanks but no thanks!

JSC could probably care less how his stuff sells int he secondary market. I for one hope that prices dip on remarked pieces so us non-wealth collectors can get a taste.

As a big collector of JSC, I hope he continues to do stuff like this and even provides less expensive options to get some OA.

1. He will care when the demand for "his readily available" took a nose-dive. Prime example --- ME! I was about to purchase one of each, then I saw I can purchase 10 of each. Then it hits me --- why the hell would I want to buy 10 of them at crazy price when I know that there will be more available? So --- I bought NONE of them! Almost dropped $10K on them things. Glad I didnt!

If he put a limit on them, then sure. But in the meantime, let's see how many will dig deep and buy these readily available remarked.

2. If he continues with note #1, then a lot of his "one of one sketch" stuff will be cheap. And with that, it will also affect his "one of one" original arts.

PS. Time to check in with his agent and find out if this scheme is "just for the holiday" or a "One time thing".

Tempted.. would rather have a slabbed copy but I suppose there's always CBCS.

I agree, this floods the market but if anything will only affect re-sellers charging $2000.. I doubt they'll ever dip below what Campbell is charging..unless he starts dropping prices as well which ain't happening.

Ships approx 30 days after ordering so he's doing these as the demand comes in..but I'm sure he already has a small stack already built up as a head start..maybe.

1. There's will, there is a way. Even though I am NOT a slabbed fan, I have been around long enough to know the process. I will show ya, grasshopper (at NYCC '16 that is)

2. Re-sellers can put whatever the price they want and if it sells or not - that is another story.

3. Making "difficult and expensive" things readily available --- only hurt the producers themselves. It is not going to hurt the buyers or re-sellers. As for "previously purchased" re-sellers -- they will have to adjust their asking price accordingly if they want to move their items.

Oh I already know..just not comfortable doing things shady even though CGC should make exceptions for cases like this.
