Ugh. Right Field?! He's is awful defensively. Major, major downgrade from Aoki. And look at this:

Do you know what that is? That's Rios' and Billy's slash lines this year. And Billy hit 9 HRs to Rios' 4. Once again...we could have just kept Billy if we were going to sign crap like this.

I'm guessing it being the year he's just a stop gap for Bonifacio.

I don't think the Royals are done yet this offseason. I don't mind Rios at all. He has potential to hit Homeruns. Yes not the best outfielder but they have plenty of guys off the bench that can go out in right for defense purposes. Do I think he is worth that much... no. Hopefully they spend alittle money on a SP

Need to have faith in Moore after this season. We're not done. Plus we keep Herrera, Davis, and holland. Pumped for season to start. Gotta play royals baseball and that isn't having a ton of power hitters. Can't win with just hitters. Love our bullpen, need another SP unless they feel Zimmer can be ready to go.

Everyone questioning our signings think of how much you hated the wil Myers trade at the time....probably wouldn't have been near the WS without that trade. We will see! Should be a fun year coming off the World Series!

Lest call a spade a spade. The Royals fluked their way to the World Series. It's still great that they made it, but don't be fooled that its going to happen again soon. David Glass was making over a million dollars a game during the playoff run with no money going out for players salary, yet still will not spend any money to keep this team relevant. He has been quoted with saying how much he hates losing but keeping a low payroll is apparently more important to his pockets. I guess he thought that being in the world series made the Royals a destination team, and that all the great free agents would be lining up to play here for less money. Instead they are overpaying for sub-par talent like this.

Rios is a game changer and has been known to go on streaks where he carries the entire team for weeks, sometimes even months. His elite power is mesmerizing and his flashes of brilliance blind opposing teams. There is a small country in Africa where he is known as "prophet with mighty stick" and is worshiped twice a day. $10 million is a steal for such a man...or a God.

I think he had an awful year last year, not sure what to expect from him.

I personally like the signing. An upgrade from Nori Aoki, even though I really liked Aoki he was just average. He had a bad thumb and I believe he had ankle problems too last year. He can also steal some bases.

Another guy the Indians were interested in that got significantly overpaid. The only thing worse than Alex Rios's offense last year was Alex Rios's defense.
