Arrow Rate my Fantasy Baseball team

I am in a 12 team league that was started last year. We got to have one keeper from last years team and I chose Prince Fielder. On a A.B.C.D.F scale I was wondering if anyone thinks my team is ok as far as all round talent for each positoin. I don't get to overly excited for baseball leagues but I want to be competitive. Here is my team:

C Chris Iannetta, Col C
1B Prince Fielder, Mil 1B
2B Dan Uggla, Fla 2B
3B Kevin Youkilis, Bos 1B, 3B
SS Derek Jeter, NYY SS
OF Alfonso Soriano, ChC
OF Magglio Ordonez, Det OF
OF Shane Victorino, Phi OF
OF Andre Ethier, LAD OF
UTIL David Ortiz, Bos DH

Bench

Vernon Wells, Tor OF
Bench Jorge Cantu, Fla 1B, 3B
Ivan Rodriguez, Hou C
Kosuke Fukudome, ChC OF
Bench Elvis Andrus, Tex SS

P David Price, TB SP
P Brandon Lyon, Det RP
P Bronson Arroyo, Cin SP
SP Javier Vazquez, Atl SP
SP Chien-Ming Wang, NYY SP
SP Justin Verlander, Det SP
RP Carlos Marmol, ChC RP
RP Joey Devine, Oak RP

Besides a grade is there any position I should trade for to make the team a little better?

Thanks for any input or suggestions.

I would give your offense a solid B+ or A-, only thing missing would be a guy with a little more speed, but what you have should be very competitive. As for your pitching staff, you could have a little trouble. I would give them a C right now. Only Wang and Verlander are reliable starters, Price is starting in the minors and your closers are in real trouble. Lyon has not been great all spring, Marmol is not the closer, and Devine would have been sharing with Ziegler but now is going on the DL to start the year. I would say you need to find a closer fast.

What are your stat categories? Your hitters seem to be pretty good. I would maybe give a B+ on the hitters. But you need some help with the pitching. Especially closers considering Marmol isn't the closer anymore and Devine isn't the closer anymore now that he has to see Dr. Andrews (yikes!)

I was very worried about this position because I waited late, I will see if there is anybody left that was undrafted but I think you are right and I need to shop for some pitching. Ty for the advice!

Look at Ziegler. He's available in all the leagues I'm in. Corpas might win the job in Colorado too. Jason Motte in STL might be available

Head to head points:

Batting Total Bases (TB) 1 Walks (BB) 1
Runs Scored (R) 1 Runs Batted In (RBI) 1
Stolen Bases (SB) 1 Strikeouts (K) -1

Pitching Innings Pitched (IP) 3 Hits Allowed (H) -1
Walks Issued (BB) -1 Earned Runs (ER) -2
Strikeouts (K) 1 Wins (W) 10
Losses (L) -5 Saves (SV) 5

See if there are any closers that went undrafted, maybe late to win the job, otherwise a good strategy is to wait until a surprise closer emerges during the first two weeks of the year. Remember baseball is a marathon not a sprint

yeah the obvious issue here would be pitching, your hitters seem pretty solid. Some guys you might look into would be ray, or villanueva

I have to ask, who else was on your team that Fielder was the best choice as the one keeper?

Carlos Lee but he plays like an avg of 115 games/year

Chipper Jones good but not as good as Fielder

everyone else was average at best, I finished 8 out of 12 last year...

A lot of those guys are starting pitchers now, or have no shot at closing. Also Torres retired. I would watch Balfour and Wheeler as Troy Percival may not close for long for the Rays, also watch Rauch for Arizona, and Wilson for Texas, as both of those teams have a shaky closer. Best bet is to wait it out for now.

I believe he was just referring to his own team, but if you would like to get some help with your own team, feel free to post it up, but if would get more looks if you started your own thread

I think your offense is pretty good as long as they can stay healthy, B+, pitching is much of the same, I am a hopeful Verlander has a good season.

I agree, your lineup is very solid, you will be happy with Granderson, you have a good mix of power and speed in there. Your pitchers should be very solid if they pitch up to their potential. My only advice is to add a third closer, I think with three closers you give yourself more of a leg up if one guys team has a bad week and he only gets 1 save.

I have to say a C. You have no true closer, your SPS are lacking, Price will be back in 14 days but hes not a ace yet, verlander could be good or bad, wang and arroyo kill your era, vazquez could be ok.

Hitting your solid in everything but SB, I would first drop koskue for a pitcher, and then look at devines injury see whats going on with him and have him next on the chopping block
