As far as I can tell, there are two that are gonna be super tough to get

1:200 DITKO VARIANT #700
1:700 QUESADA VARIANT #700

I'm in on a few Superior Spider Man #1 Variants, but I'm staying away from ASM 700. Indy, how much higher is the production of #700 going to be vs. #698?

I won't know until it's published, but i would think stores ordered it pretty heavy. The variant covers will be the ones to get IMHO.

There is no 1:700 Variant.

The Variants are as follows :

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 DITKO VAR OCT120627 1:200
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 QUESADA SKETCH VAR 1:150
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 QUESADA VAR OCT120632 1:100

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 ASM 50TH ANNIV VAR
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 MARTIN VAR
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 RAMOS WRAPAROUND VAR
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 COIPEL VAR
the above covers were based on orders from previous issues...but they are between 1:25 and 1:50

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 Regular Cover

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #700 J. Scott Campbell Midtown Exclusive VAR (1 of 2...2 of 2 is Superior Spider-Man #1 VAR)

Supposedly there are more but I think there is just a confusion as to what has been shown and people thinking they are different...example I have seen the ASM 50th ANNIV VAR which is done by Martin and have seen this same VAR called the Christmas VAR by some...suggesting there are two but are actually one in the same.

I would suspect the ASM #700 issue will be ordered in greater numbers than 698 ofcourse ...but I don't think it will be some 90's astronomical print run. The BIGGEST reason being the $7.99 cover price. I do agree that the variants will be a fun chase and are worth an investment.

#698 already in 2nd print....#699 from a print run standpoint was ordered even less from I was told today . I was told FORGET about getting the numbers I requested as Diamond is out ! Also, Avenging Spider-Man 15.1 ,as it is a bridge between ASM 700 and Superior-Spiderman #1, was also light on pre-orders!.

ASM #699.1 is a part of the arc but is basically a ZERO issue of upcoming Morbius #1 .

I am pretty sure that it is a mock cover. I definitely have ordered enough for every variant under the sun a couple times over. I have NOT seen that as an actual variant.

Every single one of them LOL but I AM DEFINITELY a Campbell fan. So from that point of view it is top of the list. Here is ratios per my ordering structure

The Quesada Sketcgh VAR is 1:150
Quesada VAR 1:100
Ramos VAR 1:50
Camuncoli VAR 1:50
McGuinnes VAR 1:50
Blank VAR 1:25
Young Baby VAR 1:25
J Scott Campbell Midtwon Exclusive ...not based on a per book basis. It is a exclusive made for Midtwon. Could be 500 or 5000 made ??
Regular Book

JZ
It should be noted that Superior Spider-man #1 should be a high print book so Variants, though not common ,will still be readily available ...I wouldn't chase at the current prices...not from an investment point of view. imo

what has the comic book world come to ? I remember when I was a teen and books like X-Men #1, X-Force #1, Spider-Man #1 etc etc etc sold a million plus and the early 90's EVERYTHING was masssed produced. The thing that surprises me is that the number seems to be rather low. Walking Dead 100 did something like 350,000 and the end of Amazing-Spiderman? Peter Parker ? etc etc will only sell 200,000. The top 3 Variants will be a better investment than I thought if those numbers hold true. Yes, I understand he $7.99 price tag is to be considered ...but the book is going to like 100+ pages so ....whatever that is worth

If Dan Slott truly has to go into hiding after what he does in Issue #700, (His words, not mine) everybody is gonna want to read it.

The comic book world was ruined because of print runs like those...not just that, but it sure contributed to it. 200,000 is more than enough. Comic book readership has gone down A LOT.

I read #698 on my iPad using the Marvel app and it was quite awesome. $3.99 seemed a little pricey, but I wanted to know what happened

I agree. I'm already salivating to read #699.. I ordered a copy of #600 off Ebay today to go back and see what happened then as it might relate to #698.. What's so funny is a couple years ago I had like 30 copies of #600, variants and all, but sold them all without ever reading it! Up until about 3 months ago still had a couple of them, but sold out.. now I had to rebuy one at an inflated price, but if it is indeed related to this storyline, I can see them going up even more.
