Default Good News: I'm working with a comic framing specialist

Guys, I am hammering out details with a custom comic framing service in Michigan to get us a great discount on their product. This will be ideal for those of you who want to frame your comics, your CGC/CBCS slabs or magazines.

Still working out the details, and they are sending me some samples. Expect more news soon.

Example of their four book display

COMIC BOOK DISPLAYS

I've negotiated with them the following: Members of Indy's CGC Grading club will receive a discount on all orders!!!

You'll need our super secret double probation discount code only available by PM'ing me. Do not give this code out to anyone as it's ours to use, not anyone outside of the Grading Club.

I have two of those frames and I like them. My only issue is that they are only sized for 'modern' comic toploaders, and I prefer to use a silver age toploader which allows for a current size mylites2 bag and board to fit inside without wrinkling. Just me being difficult for myself though. They also offer them for slabs.

Is it easy to change out the comics? I like to rotate my displayed books.

I asked and they now hold modern to silver age and yes, they can easily be swapped out. The top loaders slide in from the top and can easily be replaced. From what the owner has told me, they are the only company that makes them like this.

I can post some pics later if that interests you guys.

They were at a local con last November, I'm actually hoping they are back so I can pick up a few more.

Here are some pictures. I do really like these frames. I am definitely contacting him about the ones that hold silver age, because the ones I purchased last year will not fit a silver age top-loader, and the books display SO MUCH NICER in a mylites bag Also wanted to try the CGC frames, although I think ultimately I'm going to end up making my own custom frames for those.

Hope these pictures help anybody who is on the fence.

If I remember correctly, Dave Music is this guy in the picture with Sara Richard (who coincidentally is one of my favorite artists).

From what I recall, they really have trouble keeping up with demand. You should email him. There may be some sort of a backlog waiting list.

Do you guys know if their triple and quad frames hold graded comics, or just raw ones?

The ones on the website appear to be for raw books only. I thought when I met him last year he had 2/3/4 book holders for both raw and slabbed books, but I don't see anything on the site.

Nice to see they fit the new cgc case.. my old frames from Sam won't fit the newer style. How do the older cases look in those frames?.. would there be too much room?

I'm not exactly sure if you are referring to the frame or the comic book.

The frame has no glass, and offers no protection against light. Either the book is graded and the case slides into the frame, or an ungraded sits in a standard comic toploader.

The frame itself is just painted MDF, or some similar inexpensive wood product. I wouldn't expect it to fade any more than a standard painted wall.

Thanks for clarifying... I was browsing via a mobile device and we all know that leaves a lot to be desired...

Anyone have any options for hanging comics? (That protects against UV, etc)
