I genuinely hope the Yankees don't sign Harper.

Machado would be a way better fit for the team and organization.

Harper would have been a FA...would have kept the young pieces that are being traded.

Wow— if the Yanks just added the NL MVP and second 50+HR guy from 2017, yet did not give up any top prospects and will still stay under the luxury tax...that is outstanding news for the franchise! Talk about a power packed lineup that will be so entertaining to watch

Also sounds like they moved Castro, which opens 2B for Gleyber as well. I love the move as the team gets better in 2018, as opposed to just waiting for 2019. Bought myself a nice Stanton RC yesterday as I heard this was brewing!

See the post above you, they apparently traded all their young pieces...

Yankees arent trading much. Theyre offsetting salary. Harper will cost a fortune and a draft pick. This has virtually no impact on the yankees future besides making them better. For every ohtani there is a stanton. Stanton shut down trades to the giants and cardinals . They have like half the world series in the past 15 years it feels like.

I want to thank the good lord for making me a yankee

Perhaps the HR record as well. Yet all are moot if it leads to an improved team and thus better chances of winning while the nexus of key players is thriving.

Get ready, this place is going to turn into a salt mine if this deal goes through.

Agree; Harper would be a 2019 addition, and likely cost more. Yanks seem to have gotten the current NL MVP to bolster their 2018 campaign and did not give up much.

Well if we look at the offers that were reported from cardinals I’m doubting the Yankees gave up a lot of young pieces.

Oh boy the Homer’s are alive and well this morning

It’s okay, just means Harper is coming to the North Side next year
