Default RIP Billy O'Dell

Billy O'Dell, or as he was known to many around here "Uncle Billy", passed away yesterday. He was a great man that loved to help the young people learn the game of baseball. I will never forget going to his house as a 8 year old to learn how to pitch from him. He never charged anybody a dime to coach them, and loved just talking baseball. Last night on the local radio they said he passed away 51 years to the day that he last pitched in a major league game. He will be missed by everybody here in our community. He was instrumental in bringing back American Legion baseball to our town, and the team won the American Legion World Series a few years ago. I know that made him proud.
