Default 1967 Philadelphia Football Question

I've noticed a number of PSA 9-ish graded cards from this set with a noticeably rough left edge... is there something I don't know? How can cards with this edge get a 9?

Here's an example:

Any insight would be great.

If the factory cut them that way, PSA does not detract for rough edges. Many of the sets from those years (especially O-Pee-Chees) will get AUTH grades for not having the rough edges because of the way they were made. It also shows the card has not been trimmed.

PSA likes the cards to have natural characteristics such as rough cuts, chipping, natural toning etc.

Thanks for the input. It appears a number of the 1967 Philadelphia cards have this rough left edge. I knew PSA didn't subtract for perforated cards having rough edges, etc. So this makes sense. Thanks!
