Default Problem ebayer to block: outdoorjae

I sold this guy a very clean Taylor Trammell card after the futures game. I had a feeling I'd regret this one, because the card should be an easy 9.5 with 9 centering. However, the guy claims the card wasn't in good enough shape for him and even says he wouldn't have paid the same amount for a BGS 9 of the same card. The card currently is worth less than what he paid for it. He also tried to extract a partial refund for the condition. Screenshots are attached.

Here's a link to the item:

Why would you offer him the chance to buy the other one?

Because he said the condition of the card wasn't good enough for him. By declining to accept the graded card, he basically admitted he's returning the card for either buyer's remorse or because he doesn't believe the card would get a gem mint grade, and not because the card is damaged.

I just blocked this guy yesterday. He didn't do anything egregious, but had a feeling he was bad news.

I posted about 20 new PSA slabs the other night and he sent offers on 4-5. They were ridiculously low. I tried to counter at first, then just decided to decline with no counter after he didn't seem to be a serious buyer.

Then he started sending me messages about lowest I could do, how much if I buy "x" amount, yada, yada, yada. Didn't reply, just decided to block to avoid the potential headache.

It sounds like his game plan is to buy top prospects (or future top prospects) and hope they explode. If they don't, look for a reason to return. He was after my Adells and Royce Lewis.

Block +1 - these tools aren't worth fussing with.
Thanks for posting (and OP too).

Why would you want to risk further issues though had he accepted? I would have cut my losses told him to return blocked and reported him to Ebay.

Yeah, return for refund would have been the only verbal response the other would have been block and report.

If he were my buyer, I'd refuse to send the card and refund him. Send him a link to this thread. Maybe then he'll realize acting sleazy has consequences.
