Great day today.

ATVI up 7%, OPRX up just over 6%.

Best day I've had in awhile.

Yeah, I think I am about 15-17% myself. Still a hold. Pull up and print the balance sheet. We are both in bad spots on it but selling is a panic move. I'll harvest the loss in December if it is still there then. I think it is undervalued trading at 13x.

I honestly couldn't be doing much worse on right now so I took your advice.

It's a solid little company. I have no clue what the IOT market is though.

I don't really know what IOT is. Is it "big data". That's what it seems like when I check it through the google machine.

Not really an IoT company at all. They sell networking equipment so they're competing with Cisco, Juniper, Hauwei. I wouldn't touch this company. Tiny fish in a pond dominated by the big boys.

SWIR pretty much owns the industrial IoT market. They manufacture M2M communication chips and develop communication protocols as well as sell enterprise cloud M2M management software.

SWIR and EXTR are totally different businesses in different markets entirely.

IoT is a really buzzy word that isn't well understood outside of the tech industry. IoT is essentially machine-to-machine (M2M) communication.

Let's say you run a mfg facility that's highly automated. You need your robotics and machinery to be able to "talk" to one another so that each machine knows when it's completed a task and the next machine is ready to work that item (for example).

SWIR is also into the logistics and emergency management space so tons of possibilities. If it were my opinion I would not touch EXTR as an investment. Competition in that space is just way too strong.

If you're looking for another IoT play I'd look at Honeywell.

IoT to put it as simply as possible is machine to machine communication. "Smart" devices. Your alexa, NEST, smart home tech, that's all IoT. Now think of that but in a manufacturing facility, or fleet management software and devices, or even remote maintenance and monitoring.

Pot stocks continue to perform well.
TLRY broke $100+ this morning and I’m sure all the Robinhood millennials are on it like crypto boom and I’m loving it!

Tiny fish in a pond dominated by the big boys...yep--and, these are always the winners. They get forgotten, disregarded, acquired, and ignored. I pounce on these. Swir is very flat, overvalued, and hold @ 16/sh. At least six months for EPS turnaround and confidence. 10-15%growth for IOT segment.

i will stick with extr....undervalued, great growth prospects, much better balance sheet, more widely held, and i can triple my money here. Machine/machine tech always getting replaced/upgraded by a chip or other more economical means. Money made on modems and hardware is minimal, even OEM. Just peruse the balance sheets........

Stock price has quadrupled in the last month. Wish I saw this then.

Not that small of a company either. Almost 10B market cap.

I'm a software engineer for a fortune 100 company, I follow the IOT market very closely. We haven't seen anything yet, explosive growth is right around the corner. Industrial IoT in terms of MFG is pretty far along but outside of that like commercial or residential IoT there is almost no adoption.

I glanced over the EXTR 10Q and didn't see anything that really stood out. They're not positioned well if we're talking about capturing residential/commercial IoT market share when it booms. On top of that their patent portfolio from a technological perspective is very weak.

https://patents.justia.com/assignee/...e-networks-inc
https://patents.justia.com/assignee/sierra-wireless-inc

To be completely honest, I don't care about tiny players in oversaturated markets. I'm not a professional trader and they're not worth my time. I invest in blue chip dividend stocks.

Anyone in tech knows that IoT is coming and I went out and did the research on all of IoT players and in my non-professional opinion this is the best company. I believe in their technology, their patent portfolio, and their management team.

Would have been another good day if it wasn't for FB. Happy overall though as I don't plan to get rid of FB anytime soon. Just sucks looking at the loss I'm at now on it. Part of me wishes I could just hide it and set it aside lol.

I wish fidelity offered that. Like an "ignore" feature where it removes the holding from the aggregate figure.

AMD continuing to crush. Cashing out half tomorrow and letting the other half ride the wave.

I bought TLRY this morning at $112.59 and watched it go up to $124.50, then back down to $113, and now back up around $117. This is a tough one to look at lol.

Almost reminds me of bitcoin

Is that the weed stock? Pretty crazy run in a month.

Picked a good day to exit half of my position on AMD. Sold @ $33.51 (cost basis $16.62) in the AM. Currently on a downward spiral in the low $31 range. Everything is all profit now.

Yes thatís the one.

Iíve done quite well with OPRX since buying it earlier this week. Up 15% in a few days. I put a stop in place for about a 5% loss but glad it never went down.

Happy to come in here and see people making $$. I'm much more of a buy & hold investor, which isn't as sexy or fun to talk about, but I certainly enjoy reading everyone's daily trades and stories. Keep it up!

I still feel like there is lot more growth potential in pot stocks.
I bought back into NEPT $3.82 this morning.

Just bought ACBFF @ $6.25/share with the AMD money. Hopefully that takes off.

I heard that October 17th is the day recreational pot sales start in Canada. I would think that will have a major impact on those type stocks. Any predictions??

It's already had its impact. The news has been out there for awhile.

Another big day from OPRX. Tempted to just sell and take the profit. Bought it last Friday and I'm up about 30% on it now. I feel like every time I get greedy it comes back to bite me.
