2012 Leaf Originals Wrestling updated info
2012 Leaf Originals Wrestling
Due to an unexpected contractual obligation, Shawn Michaels will no longer be appearing in this release. In his place, we are excited to announce TWO product improvements: 1> In lieu of Michaels autographs, these cards will be replaced by redemption cards for the ORIGINAL 5X7 PENCIL ARTWORK used to make these cards! Rarely will collectors have the chance to own the original artwork that resulted in one of a sport's most legendary sets. 2> We are pleased to announce HOT BOXES (specially marked). These HOT BOXES will fall at a rate of 1 per case! Hot Boxes will feature ALL 5 AUTOGRAPHS from a single Parallel Level (numbered as low as 1/1)… |

If true, I dig it. Few marquee names on there and good ones for those filling out certified champion autos (Bob Backlund, Sheikie baby, Luger, Vader).

I really wish leaf would stop marking their hot boxes. Problem is when leaf marks them the price of those boxes gets jacked up sky high. How bout make hot boxes and dont mark them.
Maybe its just me, but i like the random chance of getting a hot box and not knowing if it is or isnt. |

I will probably buy a case and sell the hot box. I could care less if all 5 cards are numbered to 50 or 25 or not.

Have no problem with hot boxes. A way to reward the big spenders who are busting cases.
Great checklist. Does Backlund, Kamala, Steele, Valentine have certified autos in other stuff? Abdullah Butcher should be a big seller. Was hoping for more old school guys. But I'm, sure we will see a few different series of this stuff in future and include new signers down road. |

Valentine will have a certified auto in the upcoming topps release as well as several other first time signers on that list. where did you get that list from?

I'm too lazy to check the sell sheet. Is there going to be dual autos in this product? Hart/Neidhart, Steiner bros, Sheik/Volkoff, Beefcake/Valentine, Martel/Santana, Hall/Nash...lots of possibilities. Also, multi autos with managers and the guys they managed would be sweet.

Brian Gray posted the list on another site.
Are these getting their first autos Atlas, Rocky Johnson, Koloff, Putski, Roberts? I know Bruno and Superstar Graham have sportkings autos. |

I think the checklist, if true, looks pretty awesome! pnft17 - I don't know what you consider "old school," but most of those names had their heyday in the 70's and 80's.

Are you 100% sure? I thought they were both alive.

can someone take that list and make a best to worst list.
Like if you were in a hit draft, how would you rank the autos? |

Unlike baseball or other sports, it's more subjective with wrestling. Do you value the best athletes? The best speaker? The biggest personalities? I'd value a Joke Roberts auto over a Hulk Hogan auto, for example, because Hogan can't wrestle and never could; despite this, he's probably the best hit in the collection.

To answer the previous poster's question, in terms of monetary value I'd rank them: 1. Hogan 2. Flair 3. Bret Hart 4. Jake Roberts 5. Bruno Sammartino I could easily see Roberts being #2 or 3 on this list. He was very popular. Sheik, Abdullah, Piper, Hall, and Nash should also do well. As a matter of fact, if this is the actual checklist it is pretty strong. There is not one name on there that I would turn down. |

I'd argue Hall would be up there. It's terrible to say but I will because we're all thinking it: the time for getting his auto may be coming to a close sooner rather than later.
