Default eBay seller wants me to buy item off ebay

Quick question.

I made a best offer on a card on eBay. The seller sends me a message basically saying he accepts my offer if we conduct the sale off of eBay and directly through Paypal.

I know to never to buy something using Paypal gift.

Are there any other dangers of doing a Paypal goods purchase off of eBay?

If I send the money via Paypal goods and the seller doesn't send the card I'm protected and can file a item not received claim?

If you send via goods you will be fine and protected.

Yes they have blocked you from doing it so you have to get creative typing it out

Have done it many times both ways as a seller and buyer. Paypal goods either way protects you.

I get an email (hotmail) with the eBay message. If you reply via the email and not the eBay message...you can send your email no problem.

Haha yeah...recently I wrote back to a guy and my wording wasn't too great and Ebay sent me a message saying "It looks like you're trying to sell off Ebay..." Pretty awkward lolol.

It's pretty much the same as if you were to buy something off here. As others have stated, as long as you pay with goods/services, you have the same protection as buying through eBay. Sellers ask to do that mainly to bypass eBay's 10% fees.
