Default Any HughesNet ISP users here?

Moving all my utilities today to the new home address and found out i have to get a different Cable/internet service because Uverse is not offered in the area. Called Comcast and waay to expensive for cable/internet bundle so had to go back to DirecTV.

DTV said that ATT would not be an ISP option for my area to bundle and would have to go with this HughesNet company that Ive never heard of. They tried to play it up as being faster and better than ATT because its a satellite signal versus a phone line with ATT.

I looked up reviews and all i found is horror stories about how slow and laggy the service is. Of course most of the time on these review sites you just hear the bad so figured I'd ask you guys how your experience has been with HughesNet.

I had xcede at one point, which is pretty much the same thing. Same company even.

If you get their "next gen" service, it is incredibly fast.

Just don't plan on watching to much netflix/breaks/steam anything at all as that will eat up your allotment.

Once you go over, it's 56k city.

Or you can buy 1 more gig for 10 bucks

Long story short, if that's your only option, that's your only option

I'll never go back to satellite if there's another option.

Oh yeah, and Comcast's deals way better, faster, no throttling no hidden fees, they actually send you a bill instead of just taking the money on whatever f date they want.

That was a big pain with exced, they would bill on a random day with no warning. Wasn't even monthly, sometimes 10 days after paying the last bill, sometimes 40 days after paying the last bill.

Thankfully they were no contract and I ended up telling them to pound sand.

Thanks for the info, I read about having to buy tokens once you reach your data threshold and that will not work for me.

Same here bummed out that ATT only offers dial up ATM, you'd think I bought a house out in the boonies or somethin'. Good news is I called Comcast back up an they gave me a decent deal on just internet, I'm happy but the wife hates it she likes the bundles since it's just one bill to pay versus adding another bill to another account and another log in for online bill pay, she pays all the bills I just bring in the mula
