Default Rank the top 4 Running Backs this year

Gurley, Bell, Zeke, then David Johnson? I have the third overall pick and Iím assuming that Gurley and Bell will be off the board. Itís a PPR League so Iím leaning towards David Johnson but everyone will stack the box against him and Ezekiel Elliot has the best OLine. Thoughts on the top four rankings? Who would you pick at third?

I'd go Zeke.

Eventually Rosen will be at QB and they will stack 8 in the box to make Rosen beat defense's in the air

And do not underestimate Zeke catching out the backfield. It may not be often like Gurley, DJ and Bell, but he can break a 70 catch and run

Bell
Gurley
Johnson
Zeke

Is DJ even healthy yet? Heard something about him. Also, he's in a contract year so that might motivate him.

Gurley, Bell, Zeke, DJ

Gurley just based on last years performance is at 1. Bell is a close second but gets edged out due to injury history. Zeke as long as he does nothing stupid could end up at 1 at the end of the season. If Dallas line stays healthy he could be a beast. DJ at 4 due to coming back from injury and QB concerns. I hope DJ can live up to his prediction of 1000, 1000.

I’m leaning towards drafting DJ at 3 since it’s a PPR league.

Kamara may be too high on the standard one. But he could have a huge year

Lewis' perennial injury concerns cap his ceiling mixed with backs whom leave New England have a tough time in other offenses. Even if Lewis is healthy 50% of the season, the upside for Henry is huge.

The only downside is the huge upside to the Titans receiving corps. Davis/Matthews/Walker are a great trio that will certainly take some of the spotlight from Henry who's not a great receiving back.

I expect Gurley to have a down year. I'd go with Bell or Zeke before thinking about Gurley.

I also think Gurley will not be as good this year. Goff will look to throw more this year.....Bell always has injury concerns and with their passing attack with Brown and JuJu, I can see him having good not great numbers. Zeke will be relied upon heavy by Dak as he has subpar WRs, so he will more than likely have huge numbers.....Henry will have a lot of volume this year, so I agree that he will put up nice numbers.....I also think Barkley will have a huge year running and catching passes. Don't be surprised at how big of a role he will have in the new Giant offense.

I don't think anyone will be surprised by this since NYG drafted him #2 overall

My PPR feelings.....

1. Bell. Probably has the least risk attached to him as any of the guys. If he plays, he's a stud. Can run, catch, line up all over.... Steelers won't be afraid to run him into the ground. He may not end up #1, but he's the least likely in my mind to implode.

2. Gurley. We are just one season removed from him being a huge bust, so a little leery on a repeat season. He did have some variance in his scores week to week, and I think as the Rams retool it may take a bit from his volume.

3. Johnson. You can down talk to offensive line or coming off injury.... but the fact is he never had a good OL, and he isn't coming off a knee, just a wrist. Dude is a matchup nightmare and I think he's a lock to catch 75 passes for 600 yards at worst. Someone is going to have to put 4-5-6 touchdowns on him to make that up if they aren't a premier pass catcher. It's not like the Cardinals won't depend on him in the red zone as well.

4. Elliott. Probably the greatest risk for me personally. The volume of carries will be there, but limited pass catcher and probably going to face loaded boxes once inside the 10. Dak as a running threat probably vultures a couple as well. By risk, I mean he won't finish #1, and could go down to about 6/7 without really surprising me. Dallas having a severe lack of WR doesn't help me move him any higher.

5. Kamara. I think Ingram suspension just blew this one wide open for him. He could be #1 overall and I wouldn't be a bit surprised. Just a little shorter track record says he has to prove it again, but I think he will lead the league in 20+ yard touchdown runs and Sean Payton will really get him involved in the passing game.

Just my personal feelings, although I could switch them here and there and not feel bad.

Oh I think many will be surprised at his fantasy numbers because he's not even being mentioned as a top 5 fantasy RB right now. I predict he will finish in the top 5 in overall points. Especially in PPR.

Does news of Ezekiel Elliott wanting to catch more passes this year bump him up ahead of D.Johnson as third best running back after L.Bell and T.Gurley?
