Subbing your own cards is the best. I've done the same with many of mine and I enjoy the sentimental value that goes along with subbing your own cards particularly that have been pack pulled, or set pulled in the case of my 87 Tiffany's.

I just picked up that Seitzer from Fleer Update. What I wouldn't do to get his 1987 Fleer/Fleer Glossy rookie card in PSA 10. That card with John Stefero and Kevin Seitzer is a favorite of mine. I'd even settle for a PSA 9.

This thread is turning into exactly what I hoped for. Thanks for sharing all of the 70's, 80's and early 90's love. That was my childhood. Very cool.

I dont have many 80's cards. I had a decent selection but unfortunately I had to sell many to afford other purchases. Looking at this thread makes me realize I need a Henderon PSA 9 rookie in my life.

Great additions! Wish I could pull the trigger on a PSA Update Puckett, sadly I have only been eyeing a couple 8s right now, and not so sure I can even get those!

Great stuff, Cree!

Finally got around to scanning mine. I still have more coming in the mail. I plan on moving the old label Joe Carter since I was able to get a new label holder. This has been fun to go back in time!

If I had a top 10 list for cards I still want, that won't break the bank, this would be it:

1977 Topps Dale Murphy PSA 9
1984 Fleer Update Mark Langston PSA 10
1984 Fleer Update Bret Saberhagen PSA 10
1986 Donruss Rated Rookie Fred McGriff PSA 10
1986 Donruss Rated Rookie Andres Galarraga PSA 10
1986 Donruss Rookies Wally Joyner PSA 10
1987 Donruss Rated Rookie Rafael Palmeiro PSA 10
1987 Donruss Rated Rookie Devon White PSA 10
1987 Donruss Rookies Kevin Seitzer PSA 10
1987 Fleer Kevin Seitzer/John Stefero PSA 10

Just when I get caught up in the newer wax, you guys bring me back home. I wonder how the cards of this era will be viewed in 20 years?

Here is today's addition. I always loved watching Grace and Sandberg play on WGN during the summer.

And most importantly Grace and his slump busters! Love that card!

Picked this up for next to nothing on eBay earlier this week. I loved Mark Langston and actually met him in Santa Clara when I was 13. He was very kind and generous with his time. I have PSA 10's of his 1984 Topps Traded, 1985 Donruss and now Fleer. I'll have to track down his 1984 Fleer Update and 1985 Topps, perhaps even the Tiffany versions down the road.

I always find if interesting how people collect non stars for whatever personal reasons. Like in 3rd grade, this kid I remember use to love Willie McGee. I mean Jose Canseco was the biggest star on the planet and this kid would trade you his Canseco for a Willie McGee. It was insane.

I can completely relate to this. My favorite player was, and still is, Kevin Seitzer. While it might be awesome to super collect a superior hitter like Tony Gwynn or Don Mattingly, I just found myself very into Kevin Seitzer. I must have pulled a ton of his 1988 Topps All-Star Rookies and that probably got me started, not to mention the Royals have the same colors as my favorite football team, the Indianapolis Colts. It's just one of those things. Now that I'm getting back into baseball, I'm starting to search high and low for Seitzer PSA rookies and autos.

I also really liked some of the minor stars like Langston, Jimmy Key, Mark Gubicza, Bret Saberhagen (though he was a stud for a period in KC), Julio Franco and Andres Galarraga to name a few. It's been affordable and very fun to get PSA 10 rookies of theirs!

Some more late 70's and 80's goodness. I decided that I was going to cut off my PC at my birth year of 1977. That said, 1978 cards were definitely on my list and Sweet Lou Whitaker's rookie card was tops on my list. Getting a PSA 10 wasn't going to be easy on the PayPal account, so a nice looking PSA 9 was the target and I'm extremely pleased with it. I do plan to get a true Andre Dawson 1977 RC, but I really like the look of his 2nd year card, especially with the Topps All-Star Rookie cup.

Haha, well, I had to cut myself off somewhere. May as well be my birth year. I guess I should be glad I wasn't born in the 40s!
