Haha, well, I had to cut myself off somewhere. May as well be my birth year. I guess I should be glad I wasn't born in the 40s!

I figure my PC could get out of control real quick if I don't set some parameters. I know 1977 will be my back end cutoff. I just don't quite know where my front end cutoff will be.

But seriously, you will eventually collect pre-77

It's always possible, but the reason I got back into collecting baseball is the nostalgia of what I used to collect. My old PC was 1978-1993 before I unloaded it all. I really don't feel any connection to any cards prior to 1978 except for the 1977 Dale Murphy and Andre Dawson rookies, which I couldn't afford when I was a kid.

Some Royal 80's goodness arrived today. Just a heads up to everyone reading this, I am a big time Kevin Seitzer fan and would love some more PSA 9 and PSA 10 minor league, 1987 and 1988 cards as well as autos. This 1987 Donruss Rookies PSA 9 is the highest grade I can find thus far. That Gubicza was on my want list for awhile. Glad to see it popped up on eBay!

Cameron? No. But, I have nearly every Kevin Seitzer card from 1987-1997.

From the pop report, there's only 1 9 of the Seitzer and 2 10s. Good luck in your quest. Cards coming out of Donruss rookies boxes are packed tight like a cello pack and hard to get without corner dings.

Indeed. That's a reason I jumped on the PSA 9. Getting a 10 will be no easy task, but patience will hopefully pay off. I was rather surprised that Seitzer, a two-time All-Star, didn't have a lot of these graded. Same with his 1987 Fleer rookie with John Stefero. I would have figured more would have been submitted. There are a lot of guys in 1987 Donruss Rookies I'd love to get PSA 10's for, including Fred McGriff, Devon White, Benito Santiago and so on. I didn't realize that set was cello wrapped. Makes sense that the corners would be tough to find sharp.

Results from a group sub came in today. It was the absolute worst submission of my life, had a ton of low grade stuff. Looks like my box got punted around the post office before arriving at PSA. Anyway, here are the 8s, 9s and 10s. 80% of these were pulled by me from a large lot of factory sets I found on Craigslist a while back or from boxes I purchased at the LCS/eBay.

The Marshall and Penny 10s were from a $.50 box at a show. Nice little surprises there

Brutal submission! Some of those 9's appear quite nice. I'm in the market for a PSA 10 of that 89 Score Randy Johnson. I always liked the rookies from that set. I'd love to get a Tom Gordon and a Edgar Martinez, too.

That Donnie baseball looks just as good as some 10's. Great eye appeal. Solid card to own for any collection. Very important card in the hobby that cannot be overlooked.

My thoughts exactly. The centering looks damn near perfect.

Thanks Marc, I have been trying to buy 9's that I think look as good as 10's on some of these cards as 10's in these guys are expensive. I don't want to spend that much money on some of these cards.

You and I are in the same boat. I'm not about to spend $500+ on a 10 when a tenth of that for a nice looking 9 will do.

Those are terrific. The 1987 Topps design, although it's been done before and since, is so iconic. I remember when that 1987 Topps McGwire was the hottest card to pull in the set, when many of us considered that his rookie card before finding out that he had that Olympic card in 1985 Topps. My ten year-old brain couldn't wrap my head around how he had a card prior to 1987. Between that card, the Canseco and the Will Clark RC, times were good for collectors here in the SF Bay Area.

Yeah, I would have to echo the exact sentiments. That McGuire was just so Iconic at the time. Classic

Some more beauties arrived today. I really love the Puckett and it looks as appealing to the eye as some PSA 10's I've seen out there. Palmeiro's rookie PSA 10's are so cheap, it's a fun grab to get his best rookies for next to nothing. Same with David Cone. He was always a favorite of mine and is quite underrated, IMO. Nearly 200 wins and 2,700 strikeouts, 5 World Series Rings and a Cy Young. That perfect game he pitched for the Yankees is such an awesome memory. The Alomar '89 UD is one I couldn't resist. Same with the '89 Score Sheffield. I'm hoping to acquire some other PSA 10 rookies from '89 Score. I have a lot of memories of busting that stuff back in the day.

Nice mail day! I just subbed the same cards, pulled a 9 on the Glossy Griffey and got a 10 on the McGwire Tiffany.

Thanks! I have a PSA 9 Clemens en route, too. I'll be interested in seeing it in person this week when it arrives.
