Default Dwyane Wade vs. Chris Paul TC prices

Can someone please explain to me why Chris Paul Topps Chrome RC prices are pretty in line with Dwyane Wade? One is a solidified 3 time champion HOFer, and the other is Chris Paul. Am I missing something here?

1 is currently a relevant NBA player, the other is D. Wade.

Both their prices are mind bogglingly cheap.

I agree with both points, though I think Paul's prices are a bit more accurate. Still doesn't answer why Wade, a clearly more accomplished player in every way is valued the same as Paul. The fact that Paul is more relevant at the moment shouldn't level out with a career like Wade's, right?

People just don't like D. Wade right now.

But I'm sure the bumps start coming for him now he's back in Miami.

This topic has been spoken about a lot about D. Wade. Most say he's a bit of a douche or that Miami doesn't have a huge following.

Investing in his stuff now would be wise.

Don't forget, it was only 12-18 months ago that Dirks was under $100 also.

This, and it's only a matter of time before Wades stuff is appreciated again. I bought Carmelo on the cheap, but he just hasn't put a championship career together. He's a 1st ballot HOF though, just like Wade and CP3 will be.

Chrome Dirk RCs are nearly impossible to find centered. PSA 10 goes for around $200 because of that

Like others have mentioned, it's the here and now that people are seeing, not past accomplishments. I asked this same question last year when I saw Ben Simmons BGS 9.5 silver prizms going for 2k while Wades TC refractor RC's were going for under $200. It's just the absurdity of the hobby really.

I think people see what Houston is doing this year and are gambling on the possibility of CP3 getting a ring, or at least making it to the finals. Thus the price spike with him. People look at Wade and see a dude who isn't doing anything right now. His prices "should" bounce back once he announces retirement, and/or is near HOF induction.

According to Peter Vecsey, Wade was the problem in the Cavs Locker room.

could be wayyyyy off...but i think when all said and done CP3 will be thought of as a better all time player than DWade will be..maybe its as simple as that...idk...Chris Paul has a shot at some all time level stats...while DWade never did anything like that...diff players...both all time greats really...but also the 3 rings...while the first one dwade was the alpha he did still have shaq in like his last year as a still-semi-dominant force...and his 2nd/3rd rings he was not the alpha...lebron was by a mile...wade averaged 15ppg in one of those playoff years...

i know 3 rings as an obvious important part is still huge...

and CP3 has his obvious flaws...but when you look at some stuff he destroys Wade

Win Shares: CP3 161- DWade 118...CP3 is 3rd active and 14th all time...DWade 49th all time

PER: CP3 25.73- 6th all time
PER: DWade 24.05- 14th all time
-likely to go down for both but longer Wade hangs on the quicker his prob falls as CP3 is putting up 26.0 right now and Dwade around 15

CP3 also prob ends up id say top 3 all time for steals and assists to go with his top 10 or so PER/WS numbers...

*WS/48 currently CP3 is the best ever for this stat...just thought that was worthy of pointing out

I think in the end D.Wade may have had a higher peak but CP3 is still producing at the same very high level in year 13 while DWade hasnt really been at that level in over 5 years now

Wade is from a much sought after set, being 03, so I doubt the numbering is a factor here. Although it could be, definitely more Wades hit the market compared to CP.

Is anyone ever talking about $20 cards?

OP doesn't mention refractor but I'm pretty sure that's what he means.

One guy put his team on his back and delivered one of the best Finals performances ever while the other guy has never played in a Conference Final game. People forget how incredible Wade was pre-Lebron. He used to work that short range jumper like MJ used to.

I think that's the point of the OP, that D. Wade is criminally undervalued.
