This looks pretty good. I know people will complain about the sticker autos. I am fine as long as its got a great list of signers. The patch cards bum me out. It would be great to have two autos per hobby box but I'm guessing it will be two hits which probably include the patches - and guarantee 1 auto. That is kind of a bummer. I do like how they incorporate a lot of fun stuff from the show Eggo/11 x-mas lights etc. Excited about this product just hope the patches aren't overwhelming in hobby boxes.

Design team did good as far as the retro look, seems like a no brainer one would do for this property but can never assume lol. The sticker does leave a lot to be desired, grabbing Millie eases that some since I know many were adamant she needs to be in it regardless.

Agreed. Topps can be unpredictable but t sounds like the proper creativity was there (Christmas light & Eggo Parallels, retro etc). Now they just have to deliver on the value. Keeping my fingers crossed that the autos are on-card. |

I do like the design of the cards, and Heritage-style stock was a good choice. Hopefully we get a good signer list. My guess would be one auto or sketch per box, plus a patch card, ala Solo.

Design looks cool.
I'm curious if any of the kids will be limited, like Eleven, or if all of them will have all parallel levels. I just wonder why the sue of stickers for single autos though. They must be planning ahead for inclusion in a Series 2 or Ginter or something. Then again these are mock-ups, so it could change, right?

I think everyone prefers on card autos but if the signers list is strong I’d prefer that and the use of stickers. Like Breaking Bad. I’d rather have stickers than not have the top 2 people on the show not sign. My issue is with the patch cards. They are so blah to me. I was just looking at the two cases of solo Ian broke. It’s inevitable that in a case of 24-26 hits you will get 10-12 patches. So if you get a minor character auto or a sketch card that’s not very good you can have complete boxes that are busts. This would be the only show/movie I’d consider buying a full case of but the thought of all those patches has me reconsidering. That’s just me.

Cards look great, as far as autographs I'd get my traditional booklet made and wait for a convention, stickers aren't as desirable, but that is the standard now so just gotta go with it.

I just opened the GTS email. This explains the “lower than Star Wars & TWD” box cost. I had wondered this yesterday when pricing hit but it had no details added yet. The Cards and stickers do look great though.

I wonder if the sketch card will be 1 per case. If that is how they fall, then they could have some really good value. |

I don't mind patches if they are actually based on something from a show or movie. In this case, the Hawkins High patch (which I assume they will have maybe Hoppers police patch, the AV club logo, etc). I just despise them when they are just garbage based on nothing.
Now... being the only 'hit' in a box.. ugh. Although, at roughly $600 a case, if I got 6 autos/2 sketches/4patches, I could deal with that. Although, I will be opening just purely for the enjoyment of it. Half patches would be a little rough though. |

I believe the last Topps non-sports 1 hit per box release was TFA Chrome (could be wrong) and that had 1-2 patch cards per case. Every Topps thread lately has a post where someone comments that they wish Topps would take out the 2nd guaranteed hit and lower the box price. Well here it is. With all first time card signers and sketches from a release that isn’t already flooded with them I think this will be good. Add in nice retro sets from a show with a large following and its even better. People get too caught up in only one aspect of a set without taking the whole into consideration. Focusing on the tree instead of the Forrest as it goes I guess. My .02 is up.

They should have really good value at 4-6 per case. No one is sitting on a mountain of previously released licensed ST sketch cards lol.

Going to try not be negative here...but here is my two cents..
This set had Crypto written all over it but here we are... I think what we wanted when we all said "1 Hit per box" with lower pricing is no Manufactured hits. To me, 1 hit per box means a very high production run. 1000 cases or more. Topps did not purchase this license to put out a set per year. It won't be as bad as Star Wars because there is not enough content but there will be multiple sets per years in different formats. Guaranteed. I am guessing this release will have a retail component as well. Like Star Wars this will be shoved down our throats going forward. I also believe that there is no way Topps dumps the entire main cast in this release regarding autographs. Maybe half. If they were able to obtain them. Also there will be a bunch of signers on the list, a few main cast and many miscellaneous characters. My guess is at least 20 signers in this set...I would be thrilled with anything less as long as its not comparible to the Solo debacle. I know this is a new set, but its still Topps were dealing with here. I feel a case break will be more like: 4 Patches, 2-4 Auto's (lots of parallel autographs it looks like) , 2-4 sketches possibly a plate to replace one of the latter. As a community I feel like we have all been through this before. Yes, this is a brand new product and there are no auto's or sketches, sets, ect out there right now....give it a year. The great thing about all this is that this set isn't scheduled for release until October 17 and I am doubting Netflix has an embargo in place on releasing the checklist early. Which means if the Auto checklist stinks you can simply cancel your order if your distributor rolls like that which is exactly what I intend on doing. I don’t think anyone wants patch cards to be part of this but they are here so it is what it is. If they are 2 per case I can almost guarantee that they won’t be the 11th and 12th most valuable hits in the case. I’ve always had at least a couple of patch cards per release that were worth more than the worst sketch and auto. Again, I try to look at the product as a whole and not get worked up over a single component. Now if there are 4-6 patches per case then that’s different but in the past Topps has not done that with single hit boxes.....I am hopeful they don’t start now. Sadly we will not know for 4 months so no one should pre-order this

if they want to stay true to old school ,the stickers would be die cut and they appear not to be .

I don’t do stickers. Maybe get a poster at a con or something.

If this set does well it wouldn't surprise me to see a Chrome edition down the road.
