Texas Chainsaw 3-D makes you cheer for Leatherface(and her) and dislike the police/redneck locals.

I enjoyed "Cannibal Holocaust" so I'm pumped to see "Green Inferno". I was irked that it was stripped of a release date and feared it would go the route of "The Poughkeepsie Tapes".

The little hooded things and floating silver spheres in Phantasm scared me when I was younger.

If you have 1:37 to kill you can check out Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead on netflix.
A cheesefest zombie film from Australia that is pretty good.

I have not. I saw it on a list of like 15 f$#$ed up movies to watch so I have it on my "to watch" list but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Watched like Antichrist and Sweet Movie instead.

i agree it was a terrible movie, but the kill in the sewers really scared me for a long time (i was very young).

Also, Night of the COmet is one of those that didn't age well. The part that scared me as a kid was when the guy got wasted by the zombie in the alley after opening the door of the theater. But perhaps that scared me so much because a friend of my dad's had a dead-on mask for that guy and he used to scare the #@#@#@#@ out of me with that.

Yeah it definitely didn't age that well, but I love it as like an 80's time capsule film. For a while last summer I got obsessed with cyberpunk films - basically any 80's or late 70's movie with a lot of tech in it and a noir lighting/color scheme. TONS of dated movies, but it felt like I was living in 1983 most days which was neat!

A movie I've kept on my radar, but never will pull the trigger on it. It's like Serbian Film. The synopsis on wiki is more than enough for me.

Irreversible was a movie that made me uncomfortable, but I was so glad to watch it. It was a terrific and somehow a beautiful film.

Yeah I have Salo, A Serbian Film, Irreversible, and Funny Games all on my watchlist. Eventually I'll see 'em all.

As for Irreversible, it's weird I never saw it. I did a undergrad film thesis on rape revenge films as a genre but never got around to watching Irreversible. I've heard a lot of good things though.

This thread had definitely been a good motivator for me to round up all my horror stuff and get it organized onto one external drive (it's currently spread across 3 or 4 at the moment). Here's a bunch more stuff that's been long time favourites of mine -

Race With The Devil(1975) - Crazy Larry,Hotlips and Sgt. Hulka in a RV pursued by Satan worshippers
Motel Hell (1980) - "It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincents fritters"
Just Before Dawn (1981)
Nightmare aka Nightmares in a Damaged Brain (1981) - cheap and nasty
Videodrome (1983) - has it's flaws but is still Cronenbergs best
Company of Wolves (1984)
Phenomena aka Creepers (1985) - has one of the only scenes I've ever seen that has managed to turn my stomach.

For something a bit more cerebral, Possession (1981) is a great, great movie.
