Default I hate when people do this...

Why would people ruin a perfectly good card? I somewhat get doing it if you're going to keep it but why ruin a nice card & try to sell it? I don't collect him but that Geno would've been a decently priced card as is I would think. All three low numbered cards & all three basically worthless

1 1 2013 National Treasures Geno Atkins Colossal COA Auto Game Tag Bengals | eBay

2013 National Treasures AJ Green SP COA 01 01 on Card 3Clr Patch Auto Bengals | eBay

2014 National Treasures Andy Dalton SP COA 08 10 on Card 2CLR Patch Auto Bengals | eBay

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I actually like the IP auto on a plate. They are so boring to look at otherwise.

I agree, though, that the other two are just awful.

I don't agree, I would just leave the plate alone. The cards weren't printed with an auto and the blue pops out too much.

The blue pops out too much? That is the reason you get it signed! Also pieces of metal shouldn't be treated as untouchables.

That is true, but I prefer mine as regular printing plates.

I have the NFL Logo 1/1 and the Nike logo /2 among the others of that Geno and it pains me to not be able to add the tag as well. I have looked at that card many times in agony.

I actually don't mind the plate that much either but the other two...

I'm pretty sure he had another Dalton patch /5 that was signed also. Normally those pop up in my saved searches but I finally looked at the other items for sale & saw the Geno & AJ.

A guy who has been on the boards for less than a month probably shouldn't know enough to "cue" anyone. What's that smell anyway? Ah...yes. I know that smell. It's the latest fragrance of PBM.

So you run the dry erase marker over the sharpie & it erases it? Or are you talking about those Magic Eraser clearners?

Dry erase expo markers over sharpie. Then erase. Works like a charm. Used that trick on a laptop screen that was defaced.

I can't imagine doing that for resale, but I could absolutely see myself doing it on a card I knew was not leaving my possession. Also, I agree with the person who said it adds to a plate.

Agree with this. If your plans are for PC? Sure, go for it. For resale? Dumb...

Dry erase marker and wipe. Try writing on a base card with sharpie and then try the other marker over it and see how it goes.

Considering Atkins has bupkis for certified autos, I think this is pretty damn cool.

I'll try this when I get a chance. Never heard of that before.

Going by that train of thought you shouldn't think cut rectangles of cardboard with tiny pieces of cloth shouldn't be treated as untouchables either

No, the cloth was "worn" by the player. The plates are metal pieces which might not even be used in card production

I hate it as well. I would love to have this Mathis but the auto just kills it for me.
