Question Hey Simmons Collectors: Are We Gonna Get Lillarded?

Ah I remember it like it was yesterday. Going to a card show to bust through Leaf boxes for a chance at a Damian Lillard Auto. They were the exclusive company to have them and the plain but sharp parallels in Ultimate and especially Signature were holding serious value, rare for a non licensed brand.

Sure it was disappointing not to have the year's hottest breakthrough rookie in the mainstream products but in a time where there is a basketball monopoly it wasn't the worst thing in the world either.

Then... BAM. Out of nowhere Lillard Autos were inserted into Immaculate, Flawless and how can we forget Intrigue and Innovation. An NT RPA appeared as well. People who had collected his non high end cards saw a drop in both value and interest level in those cards. Parallels like Limited's rare Draft Pick Redemption SP (rumored to be #/75) went down from $120 in the next few months to $25.

So has anyone who has been hoarding or collecting Ben Simmons inserts, refractors, prizms, colors and parallels like it's 1998 worried about the same type of situation crashing the values of what many on here have spent big money on all along?

The lillard autos were part of a court case that Panini won over Leaf. Leaf made some cards that looked a lot like crusades. As part of the settlement, Leaf provided sticker autos and some on card autos for flawless. I don't see the same situation setting up between UD and Panini. The soup Nazi says, "No autos for you!"

Well, I doubt they signed Simmons to a lifetime deal, right?
