Yeah, Topps picked a really bad time to go after this license, while Cryptozoic looks like the smartest people in the room.

Bad thing is Topps will probably beat this series to a pulp with multiple releases every year.

looks the same as all the other previous releases . I would like to see a heritage type release .... with them retro looking stickers , maybe they can cover 4 seasons at a time ? or some kind of chrome release .

Dont they have the Road to Alexandria cards that will maybe have throwbacks to older seasons like sketches of Shane and the like?

I keep hoping for a Tek set for TWD. Would be a perfect fit for the series. Lots of people would be interested in chasing specific character variations and the acetate parallel colors could be really cool.

As just an outside observer (that is, someone who's never bought any WD cards), it seems that from a design perspective Topps is doing a very nice job. To me the cards, and all of the parallel options, look authentic to the world of the show. Mud, rust, mold, grime and splattered blood... It feels like a zombie post apocalypse.

So since I'm not buying any of these, I don't experience the pain that others express here about too much production. Just as an observer, and someone who appreciates good design, they seem to be well made.

Am I off base with how others feel on volume vs. aesthetic?

The look back sets are the best idea - I started late on TWD sketches, and these are letting me get the old characters that I missed early on without paying hundreds each.

To be honest i was hoping they might bring out a card trader set like they did for Star Wars. Some of those digital cards are beautiful and very different from the physical cards they release.

At this point, I wish that they had just decided to stick to one set per season, and done one set to maybe summarize the first 4 seasons that they couldn't originally cover. I'm not sure if the license would be an issue there though. But Road to Alexandria, Evolution and Survival box have all been too much, and are watering it down immensely. However, I do like the idea of Tek..

Well for me at this point I am still waiting on a season 7 pending redemption in which I've already asked for a substitution twice and nothing.
I will not be touching any more of this until they get their #@#@#@#@ straight.

Ive bought 6 or 8 blasters since topps took over and thats it compared to cases of crypto and quite a few singles. I love TWD, it's the only show I watch when it airs, it's the only comic series I regularly chase and it's the only cards that don't get offered for sale or even shown unless it's duplicates. Will not buy Topps until an on card set with minimal parallels and no 1/1s cones out so never .... well I'd buy a chrome set or a Tek set!

A Chrome release could be great looking, but I like to think they'd have to change the parallel pattern names away from prisms and shimmers. More like: cracked bone shards, rotting flesh wave, barbed wire coils...

Checklist hit Topps’ site yesterday. Still no Andrew Lincoln autos. Seems to be close to zero interest for this or any of the other zillion TWD releases.
