This kind of optimism is not welcome here.

I understand in no way am I expected to make my money back nor am I expecting to hit an Ohtani auto. However this has been a blood bath.

For retail, I say you killed it. What were you expecting?

I wouldn't consider that killing at all unless the autos or refractors are big names. Him leaving them out (other than the 1 Albies ROY) tells me they are nothing special. I would say he didn't do well at all based on the money spent.

Yeah, I just did the math. Looked quick at his post and didn't realize the number of value packs he opened. Not good!!!

For all the early retail "hype", I'm seeing a LOT of blasters and packs still sitting on Target shelves. Walmarts got bought out fast, but the Targets around here have had blasters sitting for days. Guess people realize retail is still retail.

Ohtani not playing for a week...out of sight out of mind. And it's no longer a 5 figure lotto ticket if you pull his auto.

Yea not good, over $500 in retail with not much to show. I would of done better with 1 jumbo and 1 hobby box. But i'm not complaining it was def worth the shot based on the price of Hobby this year. Plus I do really love the green auto's on this years design. Wish I would of at least hit one.

BTW my paper autos were:
Brian Mundell
Aaron Knapp x2
Colby Fitch (Blue)
Brad Keller

Got 15 values last Friday and got a Knapp auto and a slew of color. My only complaint is I have 9 doubles out of my 45 camos that came from the same place.

My Target finally got some in this week. Whoever hit it before me only left 3 blasters for the kids. I scooped those up plus a few of the three pack bundles.

Pulled a green paper auto of Will Smith, base auto of someone I already forgot on the cardinals, and a green chrome auto of Pache. There was also a blue paper Gleyber, a gold paper of someone I forgot, and a couple base Ohtani's. I dropped about $120 on all of it and was pretty pleased with the results.

I don't have to worry about pulling crap.

My local Target hasn't seen the Excel guy in two weeks.

Which is probably good for my wallet.

My Target had tons of every type of pack imaginable this AM, fought the urge to buy anything other than a handful of singles and all 10 of the 5.99 packs. Curious to see what will be left tomorrow AM.

My LCS, who’s usually very fair with pricing, has Single hobby packs for 9, jumbos for $35 and he’s got blasters for $35 as well. He nabbed the entire display from some retail spot. I almost wanted to be annoyed about it because I’ve been to like 12 different stores by me and all I found was 10 retail feeder packs. Then I realized all the money I would have spent can safely go into chrome singles and I felt better. Bought a 2016 Jumbo draft pack instead. Still got nothing. That’s wax for you.
