Default Friends with Players

Thought it would be cool to see who here is friends with any current or former professional ball players.

Guys I know that I actually talk to and see -

Ross Stripling - LA Dodgers
J.R. Towles - Houston Astros
Ryan McKeller - Houston Astros (Minors)

Who all do y'all know?

I graduated with Steve Hellickson, Jeremy Hellickson's dad.
I'm also facebook friends with him and his grandpa Bob Hellickson.
My brother once sold a car to Jose Cruz as well.
Sorry, that's the best I got. lol

just my brother

and a reach of McCullers. he follows me on twitter and we talked a bunch when he was in minors. don't try to bother him too much right now. he did recognize me/remember my sons name when we went to a public signing

Went to middle and high school with a former relief pitcher, Adam Russell. I believe his first spring training strikeout was against Ichiro, had 2 wins against my Indians his first year, was on the same team as Ken Griffey Jr and Jim Thome for a brief period of time, and one hell of a model American (catches breathe)....

Closest I ever got to "knowing" someone was hitting against Nats 2013 draft pick (now in Rays system) Travis Ott in my senior year of high school. I grounded out twice against him so I felt accomplished lol

Royce Clayton lived with my family while he was in the minor leagues. Terrific guy, too.

I'm good friends with a former White Sox/Brewers farmhand named Ed 'EZ' Smith. He went on to play a few seasons in the NFL after his baseball career, and even played in the XFL during its lone season.

He's an awesome guy and I'm fortunate to have him as a friend.

Brooks Kieschnick is in a few FB Groups I am in - he actually gets into card breaks and collect apparently
Also Chance Sisco's father is in some of those same FB groups - every time someone hits a chance sisco he typically gets first dibs

I believe we pulled a topps rollback or whatever card from Bowman of Brooks and he offered to sign it for the person and mail it back. Cool and nice.

Jeff Randazzo - Former Twins Minor League Pitcher - Played Against Jeff during Little League years and still see him a lot since he lives close to me.

Andrew Bechtold - Current Twins Org(minors) I coach a National Level Tournament/Travel Fastpitch girls softball team. I have his younger sister on my team.

Pat Kelly - Former Yankees 2b. He was one of my hitting coaches when I was younger. I actually just saw him the other day.

Coached Cody Anderson (Cleveland Indians) in high school and still see him a couple times a year during the off season. He had T.J. surgery, so I'm hoping he makes it back to the league this year.

Bechtold is a good kid, worked with him when he was at Maryland and I was a student manager there.

A friend of mine who I've known forever is actually really good friends with him as they played hockey together in TX...small world. I also played with/against Eric Fryer since I was in coach pitch up until college. It's nice to see guys you know make the Bigs.

That’s funny, I think I sent him a card recently and was wondering if it was THAT Brooks Kieschnick
