If your price wasn't so high, I'd take you up on that offer! Who else has some?

LOL no no...and if I did I would let the seller know... then I would sell the card and I would split the profit 50/50. I'm really not picking this stuff up to completely rip people off. The last deal I made here... he sent me scans of what he had, I told him the exact value of everything I saw scanned...and we made a deal at around the midway price. I keep a few cards for my collection, but majority of what I've picked up here has been donated to the kids at my LCS.... they LOVE it when i drop a box on the table and say... "okay guys... these are all yours!". Keeps the spirit of the game and hobby alive... as I'm not in this hobby or the sports care hobby for the business/profit aspect of it....

I'm still waiting for the day I find a collection of A/B/U with the Power 9.

I do have my Collector's Edition set tucked away on the shelf. Just looked prices up and the Power 9 plus Dual Lands from the set go for insane $$$ (parted out, they seem to get more than the full set!)

That's because if you know what you're doing turning "collector's editions" into "playable beta" is pretty damned easy. They'd never pass as real if you were really paying attention and examining them to buy but put in sleeves to play with, you're good to go.

Yup...I have a Collectors Edition Tundra with "rounded trimmed corners" that I play in one of my decks... hahaha

My friend actually did get lucky on a find... craigslist ad had 10,000 comic books and binders of cards that the seller didn't know what he had. My friend drove out and bought all the Magic Binders for $300..turned out to have full sets of Urzas and Unlimited Power 9. He didn't want to take the time to piece it all out, so he sold it all to me for $1500 (4 years ago).... and now I'm enjoying the 1000% profit... hahaha

What impact do you think the upcoming changes to the way sets are released will have on the secondary market?

Honestly I don't see that much of a change coming. Cards that become Modern worthy will hold as Modern does not rotate and just grows. Standard will be the same... cards will spike and fall depending on the leading tournament decks, then most cards will lose all value unless they find a home in Modern or older formats.

See I was kinda thinking (theoretically) that since cards will be standard legal for longer now it should keep the prices up longer and keep the boxes "moveable" without stiff discounts. But you probably know far better than me so you're probably right. I was just curious on your opinion.

Doesn't really matter how long standard legal timeframe is... all that matters is "what is hot now", "what the top decks are", and what the new stuff is and what is rotating...

Simple example is Theros... when cards like Stormbreath Dragon and Thassa came out they were up to $20-$25... then they dropped as more came out and they didn't find much play in standard tournaments. But once RTR block rotates out, don't be surprised to see cards like those skyrocket again. But overall it's always been the same. Cards in the format will be hold value depending on the top decks, and their viability for modern and eternal formats. Once they rotate, no matter if it's 6 months or 1 year, the values will drop...

(just my 2 cents...)
