Well, what exactly are you wanting to know? Are you looking to find information on why they're so popular, why people collect them, what items are the most collectible? How/where to get them or to start your collection? So many things to explain!

The answer's pretty much in the name. Pop culture. They have licenses for just about everything so there is literally something for everyone. They look nice, don't cost a whole lot (at least the standard ones when they're new, anyway) and they're highly collectible. You could say they are this generation's beanie babies with a broader range of reach because they are of loved icons instead of little animals. This has a lot to do with that.

Ok. I answered that in the previous post mostly I think. Others may have different opinions but that's what I think. And it's what most people who do collect them tend to agree with.

Haha i love how a card collecting site wonders how something can be a desirable item or popular.
Funko pops are like pop culture figures that draw in a huge audience with everything they release. Like bizzy said they are like what the beanie babies were but with a broader audience due to the characters they produce. They also arent just "collectibles". Adults and children can obtain them and display them in their office, bedroom, home, etc., or even play with them. They also release exclusive pops, chase pops, and public event pops that are nice items to search for and keep the drive alive for collectors to keep adding to their collections. They are just a cheap and unique way to feed a hoading addiction, aka collecting in a socially acceptable way. |

Pretty self explanatory to understand why they are collectable, especially from people that collect cards. In fact, I think most "outsiders" would see these as more 'normal' to collect then cards. I think they are neat but don't own any, just wouldn't know where to store or display them.
I would like to pick up one sometime though. Are there any rarer ones to look for pertaining to the Joker?

At least you can argue that cards have some sort of "investment" value even if the margin is razor thin. Are these things anything other then toys for the most part? Could you really sell them for any profit? If Cam Newton wins this weekend and has a huge game is his Funk Pop going to go up? Honest question. Probably sounds like I'm being a smart ass.

Its a totally different type of situation like that. This may not be accurate but here is how i would transfer it to cards
Jersey cards=common pops low end autos= exclusives (some can go for just as much as a common and some can go for slightly more) Mid/highend autos=retired/vaulted Highend auto= chase and some rarer retired/vaulted For the most part the prices will stay the same for commons unless it becomes a retired or vaulted pop and then you may see an increase in value. I am no expert im just a regular collector so these are just my opinions |

but do you have a "PC" that you dont really care about current or future sell value? just like you "collect" cards of your favorite teams/players...as has been mentioned these have tv show/movies/video game characters etc.. and yes if you get the right ones, they can go for decent $$ not really sure whats not to understand |

Also, I imagine you get people more actual collectors in Funko, not looking to flip for a buck.

I think the main difference is between cards/pops selling is it takes longer for things to have bigger $$ potential for regular stuff. Unless of course you get the newest stuff early and then you can get higher dollar for them before they're everywhere

Or just have fun and collect, not worrying about value.
