I would have died if I pulled that in 1998. That was my player when I was a kid.

I pulled the first auto ever put in packs! Back in 1990, my dad and bought 2 cases of 1990 Upper Deck and we pulled the Reggie Jackson auto. We sold it for 400 dollars lol.

What an awesome card. That had to be crazy odds back then.

That would probably be some no name autographics out of 1996-97 Skybox Basketball.

My dad bought a box off QVC for me and that was the first auto I pulled

I pulled a 2001 Topps Brian Urlacher auto out of a few packs of regular Topps at Cranbery Fest in Warrens, WI that my grandma had boughten me. I went with her the last day because I knew she would let me buy some packs. My dad didnít like me buying cards, but I knew grandma was a softy. I was like 14ish at the time. I remember being so excited and put it in a sleeve and toploader and then staring at it the whole way home. So much so I took it into the gas station bathroom, and forgot it in there. We had taken left and I couldnít find it, so my grandma turned around and whew, it was still there.

First autographed card was a 1991 Score Mickey Mantle card! The True Yankee one at that. I still have it and have since, completed the entire 7 card autographed set. Was a big time Mantle fan growing up.

1994 Signature Rookies Hockey Cool 5 Signatures Brian Leetch. Still have it in a box somewhere. Was living in NY back then, looking back I should have sold it to the LCS where I cracked it for the $100 he offered, since it's only worth around $15-20 now from what I can find.

This is a great thread. I was 12 or 13 in 1991 and remember pulling this from a pack at my local card shop.

1991 NFL Pro Line Portraits Jim Everett Certified Autograph

Note: I later sold this card to the card shop, so this is not my card, but I'm going to buy one on eBay now for old times sake. Sorry for the large size photo, I'm not able to upload to Imgur, so I used the direct link from an eBay auction.

One of my college professors for a summer class this year was recently telling me that he pulled a Mick auto from 1991 Score pack (that the Easter Bunny left him) and he still has it in a safety deposit box (he doesn't collect but has two young kids he wants to pass it along to someday). He said at the time the owner of the card shop offered him $1000 for the card, but his mom said no and that he should wait to see its true value. He said that is so glad it wasn't sold because the sentimental factor is much greater.

Don't have it anymore, but it was a late 90s Sean Burrough's Bowman's Best.

1997 Bowman Derek Jeter blue ink. I don't have it anymore, at least not the same one. I bought replacement maybe 6 years ago but I do wish I still had the original.

2000-01 Topps Autographs of Jonathan Bender, the odds for a auto were astronomical but even though it was only his second year everyone had already pretty much written him off as a bust so it was kind of disappointing.

Man, some legendary cards in this thread!

My first was George Lombard from UD HoloGrFx! I still have it and still love seeing him coaching the Dodgers!

The real answer is someone from 1996 Donruss Signature, which I don't think is what you're asking for. Can't remember who it was, anyway, but I remember being disappointed blowing $30 or whatever it was on the pack. For a non-guaranteed auto, I'm pretty sure it was a 1997 Bowman, and I'm pretty sure I still have it, but I cannot remember who that was, either. No one big.

1996 Skybox Autographics Nate Mcmillan. At first I thought it was a facsimile auto since autos back then were so hard to hit. Still have it to this day.

It was a Strasburg 2010 Bowman Chrome Orange Auto Redemption back in 2011. I redeemed it, got it back fairly quick and I traded it on here for a Hosmer 2011 Bowman Chrome Gold Auto and I don't remember what else. It was a couple thousand dollar card when I pulled it and the Hosmer Gold was THE card to have besides a Lawrie Blue. Lol

I assume it was from Donruss Signature. That was a nice pack of cards. I donít remember how many autos per pack but from just a few packs I remember Maddux and Gwynn. The store I got them at was 35 per pack back in 97 98. UD Retro was about the same time and I know that from 3 of the Lunchboxes I got Russel Branyan, Tony Perez and Scott Rolen. Wow I wish I could remember important info like that.
