Default This just happened at Target. Attn: BODA

I've been hitting the Target in Christiana Delaware everyday for the past week in hopes of finding some Bowman Mega Boxes. This morning, I met the excel rep and I asked if he had any today. He said yes! I was stoked!

I grabbed my cart and asked the Rep "How many boxes can I take?"

"The guy behind you would like some too" he replied.

I turned and saw a guy behind me and I offered that we split the lot 15 each. He said he wasn't going to buy that many.

I started to load up my cart and the guy I'm splitting with hands me 4 boxes and says "here you can take these"

I turn and look and this Dou*che and he has a scale sitting on the shelf weighing the boxes. What the heck? I flat out called him on this and told him he was disgusting for doing this and that this was not cool. He replied " that's not the first time someone called me disgusting."

I grabbed my phone as fast as I could and snapped what I could. He asked me if I was going to post this to facebook. I don't have facebook, but I do know BODA. And BODA don't mess around!

This guy apparently sells cards on Facebook and hits the local targets in this area. If you know this "terd burger", then please call him out.

What's the point in weighing these boxes? They should all weigh the same.

He’s not hurting 3 people. He’s hurting the hobby. Why would you deal with scum like this?

You know, in theory if the Mega Boxes have a redemption then the boxes will be slightly lighter. Last December, I weighed about 20 2017 Topps Chome Update Mega Boxes (AT HOME AFTER I HAD PURCHASED - just an experiment) and there was one that was two ounces lighter than all the rest. I handed it to my little brother and said "that one has a redemption in it". He proceeded to rip open the box and then in the second pack, boom, a Judge Auto Redemption.

There may have been something that caused that box to weigh less, but it can't be that much of a difference. One card does not weigh two ounces, so even if it was missing completely it wouldn't have been that much.

You're right - I think it was .20 or .02, can't remember. And fair point - a lot of time the actual boxes weigh differently or the amount of glue causes the difference. Definitely not an exact science.

I had two Mega boxes w/o any color or autos. Color and autos weigh slightly more. But as I stated above, definitely not an exact science and with the way these are selling on the secondary market, it's dumb for him to not buy all of them.

Looks like he is weighing the Threads boxes. Some of those have jumbo patch toppers which I assume would be easy to pick out with a scale.

It is sad that grown a** men have to do this to the hobby. From his comment, it sounds like he knows he is a scumbag but just doesn't care. Stuff like this is what drives people (and kids) away from the hobby.
