Default Thor ragnarok upper deck

Is upper deck making a set for this? If so when does it suppose to be released?

Yes, it is coming. Don't have an exact release date yet.

UD Matt, tell the higher ups that if they can't get the top people to sign then don't even bother making this set.

Thor is probably the one set where you can count on the main star to sign. Hemsworth seems to sign for everything.

Tom has signed quite a few times too, so that would be 2 main stars at least.

Ruffalo is doing more and more conventions these days, don't see why he hasn't already been in a UD set

Blanchett has signed for Topps
Karl Urban signed for multiple sets

Hemsworth and Hiddleston obviously should be included.
More Idris Elba would never be a bad thing
Don't think people would mind Jamie Alexander again ether

Apparently Tessa Thompson steals the show from early word on the movie.
Anthony Hopkins prob never happen but man that would be amazing. Same with Jeff Goldblum. And just looked at cast list... Sam Neill is in this?! Please make that one happen UD

This has potential of being best UD set ever if they include most past signers and land a couple new names. Plus without giving away any spoilers, another big Marvel character is apparently in the movie who has signed for UD in the past as well.

Here's now the autographs work for these sets.

UD submits a list of who they would like to sign for set X. The studios dictate who (in this case) UD can approach to sign for the set. Obviously, the actor or actress can say no. In most cases, the actor or actresses people are the ones saying no.

UD can not approach the actor or actress at a convention to sign stickers or cards, because ultimately the studios and Marvel Studios have to approve all card images and they would notice that someone not on the approved list signed.

In an awesome world, UD would be granted one or two days of access to the filming location or space where they gather to do the script reading and approach the actors and actresses about signing.

Again, it's not 100% UD's fault that they aren't getting certain talent to sign. Because I can assure you, they try for every single set.

I'm sure there are other details that I'm missing, but you get the point.

License then set.

A license costs money. A business is not going to get a license and then sit on it because X person might not sign. Actually, it probably is in the contract that they need to produce the set and pay Marvel an agreed upon amount.

As a consumer you can make a decision to not buy because of content, but for producing, UD is more going to be driven by licensing agreements.

I hope UD doesn't make this one a premium set like Dr Strange.

They either need to lower the price, or put value in the boxes. And since they certainly won't lower the price haha, it would be nice if boxes that don't have a big hit *COUGH* Michael Keaton *COUGH* have a value of more than $20 out of a $100+ box. Yeah we all get zonked every once in a while, that's the nature of the hobby. But it shouldn't be 2 in 12 boxes get their money back and 1 in 2-3 cases get a massive hit. If 10 boxes a case net you $20 each there's a problem haha. Guardians and Spider-Man were both brutal.

Tessa Thompson also signed for inkworks on a Veronica Mars set

On a Thor trading card non UD note, these will be available during the opening week from Odeon cinemas around Ireland and the UK so I'm sure they will pop up in certain chains in the states too. One card per ticket.

I feel like there's a good chance of getting a lot of the top people to sign, as most of them are big signers. Not that it means much, but Marvel ran a promo on Twitter a few weeks ago with gofooji where they gave away 1200 signed posters, Thompson, Ruffalo, Hemsworth, Goldblum and Blanchett all signed. I managed to get a Tessa Thompson.

Aw man Odeon always gets the cool stuff, and it's the only main chain that I don't have locally.

If we get a set close to Thor Dark World I'll be happy.

I still find it hilarious though people dogging signers for Homecoming when it has had the most signers ever for a Marvel set from UD. Sure there were really only two "money" cards but as discussed into the ground a good amount of serviceable names.

For this set though in all likelihood we'll get Hemsworth & Hiddleston (would not shock me if UD still had a pile of stickers lying around) , Tessa Thompson, Mark Ruffalo, Jaimie Alexander, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Idris Elba are good possibilities to give the signers list some umph.

Karl Urban & Ray Stevenson are two more in the all likelihood category.
Goldblum & Neill are toss ups.

Cate Blanchett & Anthony Hopkins I doubt it.

One I think would be great as well is Clancy Brown.

I'm looking forward to this set. Hope they get Mark Ruffalo to sign as both the Hulk and Bruce Banner.

They posted the auto cost for Ruffalo at the RICC and it's insane. $150 for an auto, $160 for a picture. Let's just say I'll be skipping his line.

Just back from seeing the movie, thought it was great, loved the comedic relationship between Hemsworth and Ruffalo. They only had 3 of the 5 character cards at my local cinema and I managed to pick up a few of each. They're a decent size about 2 times the size of a regular trading card. If anybody wants some just let me know , all you have to do is cover shipping, I do live in Ireland, I have maybe 3 of each extra

I think Captain America Civil War and Spider-Man Homecoming proved you need more than a big autograph to make a set successful.

I'd be shocked if it were less than that
