Might be a busy week at school for him.

I am going to miss Friday's Yankees game as me and the mrs are going to the Mississippi riverkings opening night hockey game, oh joy minor league hockey over an alcs game 6, in my wife's defense who would've thought the Yankees would still be playing. I at least get to buy a bunch of retail crap on the way to Southaven.

My wife and I went to lunch together yesterday and ended up sitting in the back of the cafeteria talking for almost 2 hours. Very early on in that though, she did wrap up her sandwich and was gong to leave since I brought up how mad I was at her wailing on our Son.

She was all over the place again telling me that if I thought I could raise our Son better, she would gladly leave him with me, I can have the house, etc. I was nice by not bringing anything into it about how of course I could raise him better because I would ensure he doesn't end up in jail or bullying other siblings your her two oldest.

She asked me what I wanted to do. I guess this was dancing around since she claimed later on that I never answered her question. I told her that the only way I could see staying married was for some major changes to take place. I'll re-iterate these in counseling again today. They start with her going to her own counselor for her issues stemming from the abuse by her first husband. She is blaming that for why she acts the way she does and treats me like crap, defends the girls, and now seems to be acting like her ex did to our Son. Second, the boyfriend needs to stop staying overnight immediately. Thirdly, the middle Step Daughter needs a drop dead date to move out. She said she talked to her on Sunday about this and even offered up our own couches/coffee tables when she left. I told her that was nice but where did she think we were going to get the money to replace them?

She says that my ex-girlfriend was right that we really do treat the person we are with the way the person before us treated them. She treats me like her husband treated her and she is now starting to treat the kids that way too. Honestly, other than her getting quick to anger with our Son, I don't see that towards her girls. They always claim she hollers at them, but its usually because they aren't listening or acting up. It's never just because she wants to with them.

On the way back to the office, she told me that she loved me and didn't want a divorce. That's when she claimed I never answered her question whether I want to stay married or not. I told her that she has a bad way of showing that love a lot of times.

Honestly, she is no longer the woman I first met and fell in love with. I know part of it was my White Knight Syndrome and part of it seems like she flat out lied when we discussed raising children. I think today in counseling, I'm going to demand she go to counseling on her own to work on the issues of her abuse in the first marriage and to see if she could overcome them. She always says its not going to be overnight and I tell her I realize that, but showing progress would be nice. After all, she demanded I go to marriage counseling after that huge blowup earlier in the year or she would leave. I just don't see it working out in the end anymore though. I used to think we could fix it, but not anymore. For the first time in all of this, I have seriously been thinking about division of property, contacting a divorce attorney, making deals for the house and my Son, etc. I guess that should really tell me all that I need to know on what direction I should be taking. The thing that sucks is, like our counselor says about all of our external problems, when it's just the two of us, we have such a good time and it feels like such a good love.

I also brought up the fact that if we decide to get divorced, I don't think it will be civil and not contested after she tells her Mom or tells the girls; especially the middle Step Daughter when she tells her why she definitely needs to find a place to live. She claimed, she wouldn't let it get that way. I told her that I know how easily influenced she is by them and I'm not sure she could keep it civil at that point. We also discussed how we would work together. I did mention that if we went this route, I wasn't going to discuss it with people at work or take my ring off until it was final since they are all my employees and at the same time, some are friends of hers.

Hopefully, she finally agrees to go seek the counseling she needs. She has a lot of healing to do. I am glad you had a chance to talk a lot of things over.
