Default Post your Exquisite singles "box" challenge

Here's an interesting idea for value comparison.

Now that certain other places have Exquisite boxes for $1,005 per box, let's see what a completed sales "box" would look like.

In other words, go to Ebay completed sales, check the prices, and add up a dream box for you under $1000 for the same cost of a box elsewhere. Should we say 6 cards to a box?

Example;
Russell/Bird dual auto patch; $242.50
2011 12 Exquisite Dual Patch Auto Larry Bird Bill Russell Amazing 15 25 | eBay
Jordan Shadown box auto; $518.88
http://www.ebay.com/itm/11-12-UD-EXQ...7#ht_165wt_946
Magic/West dual booklet; $115.02
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-12-UPPE...6#ht_185wt_709
Erving Inscriptions; $53
http://www.ebay.com/itm/11-12-UD-EXQ...b#ht_165wt_946

$70 remaining!!! I'll add them as we go along. Should be interesting to see just how many singles how could get for the "going" price of a box.

Just for clarification purposes, that one wasn't my pickup, just a completed sale. My method of thinking here is that in one week's time I bet I can make a "box" containing Jordan, Russell, Bird and more for the same cost of a hobby "box" just to show how over-priced it currently is.

Of course, at $1000, you are better off just buying a 16x20 Jordan framed auto at the Upper Deck store, but anyway...

Again high end boxes are like lottery. Its like you saying if you paid $1,000 in $1 lottery tickets, whats your expected return? like $200-300? But why do people still buy it? because there's a shot at like 100 million. Not saying that buying lottery is smart. But just saying the point of buying expensive boxes are shot to get like the 12 way auto, if your dream card is that, u can't buy it for just $1000 (at least not yet).

Hahaha at $1,000 a box. My goodness. There are six cards per box so that comes out to around $166 dollars a card. Unreal.

Found a Jordan for 518!!!

Looks like my "box" of singles will have Jordan, Russell, Bird, Magic, West, Erving all in one "box" at $1000.

Though I agree with this and would extend to almost all box breaks the difference is there are not that many lottery hits in this current product. I understood the escalating prices of retro (though Im just not a fan of the college stuff) because the chase cards were bringing in redonkulous amounts but how many great chase cards are in this to make it worth the 1k?

If Jordans are already falling to almost $500 in 1 week how low will they get a few months from now?

just rememebr the Jordans will fall but will also go back up once the season starts and the product gets harder to find... will probably settle around $650.
