Default Help me make a list, "Probably NFL HOF's by draft class year"

Hey guys,

I have been searching for a long long time and I think I know where I want to go. I want to have a BGS 9.5 topps chrome base/refractor rc of every player in the HOF, starting with 1998 as chrome started in 95/96 but 98 was a huge year and no one has been inducted into the hall of fame drafted after 1997.

I am almost looking at this as a new way of "prospecting" as I don't know for sure if they are going into the HOF, but it would be nice to nab one earlier rather than later to save some $. I am going to start the list, please feel free to add in your reply and give some reasoning for it. I am listing "locks" only right now and current/recently retired players.

QB:
MANNING (1998)
BRADY (2000)
BREES (2001)
MANNING (2004)
ROETHLISBERGER (2004)
RODGERS (2005)

RB:
TOMLINSON (2001)
PETERSON (2007)

WR/TE:
MOSS (1998)
GATES (2003)
WITTEN (2003)

OL:
THOMAS (2007)

Defense:
WOODSON (1998)
BAILEY (1999)
URLACHER (2000)
REED (2002)
POLAMALU (2003)
REVIS (2007)

Good idea. I'm actually doing something similar. I'm collecting the rookie card of every defensive player that is in the HOF; Topps Chrome for the modern players. However, they must be graded by PSA. The grade must also match the decade of the RC. So a RC from the 60s will be PSA 6, 80s must be PSA 8, 90s will be PSA 9, 00s will be PSA 10.

After 1998 possible HOF players I would include Troy Polamalu, Ben Roethlisberger, Edgerrin James, Kurt Warner, Larry Fitz, Eli Manning, Jason Witten, Antonio Gates, Gronk, DeMarcus Ware, and Champ Bailey.

Only way Edgerrin James is ever getting into the HOF is if he buys a ticket.

Some others

JJ watt, Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, Pat Pete

Too early to call (but c'mon you know there going to the HOF unless they have some type of dramatic injury that causes them to stop playing football half way through there career)
-OBJ (check his stats he averages 102 yards and 1 TD per game as of now.) ***Jerry rice only averaged 75 per game****
-Khalil Mack (first guy with two All pros in different positions)

You can add Julius Peppers to the 2002 list of topps chrome rookies

The problem you will find with picking Topps Chrome rookies for HOFers is the checklist is so tiny lots of hof calibur players don't have a chrome rc Like Tom Brady, Steve Hutchinson, Nick Mangold, Jason peters, Richard Sherman, Antonio gates etc

My bias aside, I really believe Nick Mangold will be in the HOF when his career is all said and done. I also cringe at the day he leaves the Jets OL.

Really? Because he'd be the only rusher with 12,000 career rushing yards not to be inducted.

WR/TE: Tony Gonzalez (1997)

Edit- Just noticed you mentioned starting in 1998,

In that case, Charles Woodson (1998)

The only reason I'd say Eli isn't a lock is people have had trouble shaking their perception of him based on the beginning of his career. But I think any QB who wins 2, barring really unusual circumstances, should definitely be in.

I agree with this... perception of Eli is not what the perception of Roethlisberger is. Many people see Ben as a top 5 QB year after year.... Eli doesn't get that credit and never really will.... nor should he in my opinion.

Eli will get in; but may not be a first ballot guy... and if he retired today it may take more than a few times on the ballot. At this very instant Kurt Warner is a better candidate in my eyes...... as Eli starts to move up the all time lists that will change... but for this moment I don't think Eli is an absolute lock.

I will agree with this as well.... Calvin is not a lock, and there is even a chance he doesn't make the Hall after many years on the ballot
