Default The Fishing Thread

I dont believe I have seen a thread like this so I will start one up... As a handful of you know, I am a huge fisherman. I fish the local waters of Long Island, NY each spring/summer/fall as often as I can (although it is not as often as I would like). Here are a few of the many pictures I have of some catches from last summer to this spring...I plan on getting out a lot soon so I will update this thread after a successful day out....Feel free to post any fishing pics you have or even post as you fish throughout the year! Would love to hear some stories/reports!

Trying to get into surf fishing more...this is Gilgo Beach last summer

Maine

I have a Hobie kayak, landed this Striped Bass 2 years ago in Cold Spring Harbor

Fresh water Bass Haven...Upstate NY

Took my cousins out and found the Large Mouth Bass

Last summer Fluke

Last week...

Fisherman: Update this thread as often as you would like! Post Pics!

Nice!!

Where in Maine? I'm from there, that's why I ask.

Father loves going stripper fishing up there. Used to pull into Portsmouth Harbor when I was young and catch like a dozen flounder on droplines. It was sweet.

Last summer got to go tuna fishing in Boston Harbor, we got quite a few, it was a blast!

Want to try fly fishing sometime...

That was near Camden...Lots of strippers over there! I will always remember when we were eating lunch at a restaurant on the water and I walked out on their floating dock only to see four 40+lb cow Bass waiting for food to be thrown to them...unreal. I have yet to go tuna fishing, too expensive! Trying to save up for a big tuna trip next summer though....Post some pics!

Dan- Those are some nice fish... Looks like you do a lot of freshwater fishing....Catching a sturgeon is on my bucket-list. Do they put up a good fight?

Never caught a walleye! Must be fun! I hear they are like Muskie. We get a lot of muskie and pike over here.

Yea being from iowa I'm 2000 miles away from any salt water, haha sturgeon really didn't put up any fight whatsoever. Truthfully I didn't even know he was on the line I was using 12 oz weight that night because the river was high.

Wow I never would have thought that to be honest. We get sturgeon in the Finger Lakes here upstate. I would like to take a ride up sometime.

I have caught 2 or 3 gar down by the dam and I agree, they're a tough little fish.
