Anybody else find any Bourbon County Brand Stout or any of its variants today? I got two 4 packs and feel fortunate to have got my hands on them. If you like barrel aged stouts, you don't want to miss this release. Goose Island made this a Black Friday release so you may still have a chance.

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay? The owner of the party store I go to has been talking about this for a month but he was saying a 750 mL bottle was going to cost $35 - $40.

I don't see any info from looking around online that they even bottled in 750 mL bottles. I'll have to drop by there tonight to see what he got in.

I paid $22 per four pack. I purchased two of them. My store didn't receive any 750s. $35 to $40 for a 750ml is steep. But someone will probably pay it. Someone always does.

I work for Anhueser Busch here in Orange County and the stuff is like gold here, I put up a 10 case display at the Total Wine in Huntington Beach and there was a line 20 people deep at 7am in the rain waiting to buy it. Sold out in 45 minutes

Good time of year for beer right now. Higher alcohol content=warm and fun.

It's great stuff. Check out this video. This is the line at one of the Binny's stores in Chicago when they released Bourbon County Brand Stout last year.

Holy crap! All that for some beer? That must be one kick-ass beer!

Damn straight it is one kickass beer. It is 14.5% abv and it is absolutely delicious.

Goose Island is recognized as the first brewer to age stout beer in bourbon barrels. This barrel aged stout is sold under the name Bourbon County. Goose Island bottles and sells this beer once per year. In the past, it was distributed around the country at various times in the fall. This year, they informed all retailers that they did not want it sold until Black Friday. And anyone who was caught selling before Black Friday would not get any next year.

The video a few posts above is at a Binny's in Chicago. Binny's is a chain of nice liquor stores in and around Chicago. Goose Island brews in Chicago so the folks around there have been in the know for much longer than many around the country.

archie - the guy had a case of Bourbon County. He didn't get the 750's he just got the 4 packs. He limits releases like this. He will only sell to certain people and only a certain amount. I was able to pick up 2 - 12 oz bottles.

I like on the bottle it says you can age it up to 5 years. I wonder what the ABV would be if you let it age for 5 more years.

I absolutely hate websites that put each one on a different page... why?!

That said, I drink Lite beers... not a connoisseur like most. If I am drinking beer, it is to get drunk exclusively.

Just picked up a bottle of Sweet Repute. Was able to get the owner to drop the price to $15. Haven't tried it yet but I've heard good things.
