Default Help identifying value of large power tools

Long story short, I have been tasked with liquidating a family member's workshop which includes a number of large power tools: i.e., a lathe, bandsaw, table saw, drill press, scroll saw, joiner, etc. They are out of my home state, and very bulky/heavy so moving them to my lair in central NY is out of the question. I will run the model #'s through eBay when I get out there to inventory them but they do not seem to the type of item that would typically sell well there -anyone know of any other online venues or resources for ascertaining the value of these items?

Are these professional grade wood working tools? What brands are you dealing with? Some higher end wood working tools are very valuable.

I would guess your best bet is to toss them on craiglist and see if you get some bites. Value them based on what others have sold for or are selling on CL and ebay.

Best bet is local since the weight will make shipping pricey.
Like others have said - brand name is everything.

I believe so, Rockwell is one I remember. We have all the manuals so I will be able to make a decent inventory.

Craigslist is the way to go for sales. I buy tools off it all the time. You can also see if there is a reseller in the area. You won't get top dollar but they will all disappear quicker. 3rd option if you'd like the items is to look into a POD and have them shipped to you that way.

Do the PODS have a weight limit? These things are heavy.
